Quick Quotes
Q. All right, Cody, Bobby, you guys are headed to the semifinals of the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball. How fun is this event for you guys as brothers to play?
CODY MASSA: I mean, this is everything. We been trying to get here for, what, this is our sixth year to try.
Winning a normal tournament is amazing. (Background noise - indiscernible.) Nothing on this.
BOBBY MASSA: I agree. I agree. Like he said, we tried a few years in the past and didn't work out. Now that we're here, just onto the next match and see if we can get a win there and then go from there.
Q. Three down, two to go, what's the mindset heading into the final day?
BOBBY MASSA: Just like we played today. Do the exact same thing we did today. Cliche as it sounds, it's fairways, greens, and try to both be in the hole so we have as many looks as possible.
Q. You holed out for eagle on No. 5, so walk me through that shot. What was your yardage? What was the target? What was it like when it went in?
BOBBY MASSA: I had 103 hole; I'm doing adjustments to Dallas, so I was around 96 yards is what it was with the adjustment. I was trying to land it just about 87 and just came out perfect.
I mean, obviously it's a huge bonus for it to go in. But hit a really good shot and just trickled right in the left side of the hole apparently. I didn't get to see it go in. Once they started cheering I was pretty happy about it.
Q. And Cody, you're used to playing golf here. I'm sure you guys play a lot of desert golf together. Giving him any tips or pointers since you guys play in this condition and temperature all the time?
CODY MASSA: I give him the yardage every hole.
Q. Every single shot?
BOBBY MASSA: Every shot.
Q. Do the calculations.
CODY MASSA: Every shot.
Q. That's awesome.
CODY MASSA: Been fortunate enough he's come here to play in the qualifiers in the past. The hardest part for him to always get is the distances. He hits it so far the ball just goes so far for him here, so I'm like, this shot, Dallas number, this shot, Dallas number, this is an adjusted number.
It's been a lot easier for him this time.
Q. Playing so close to home for you, what does it mean to you to play in a USGA event just up the road from where you live?
CODY MASSA: I mean, I feel like I have a huge advantage. Just knowing how far the ball goes I feel like is massive.
Everybody obviously knows now, but the first couple days it's always different. I mean, even today wasn't as hot so it's not going as far. You have to adjust. If it's 95 tomorrow the ball is going to go two, three percent farther.
It's a big advantage out here.
