THE MODERATOR: Min Woo Lee joins us at the 108th PGA Championship. Min Woo, a solid 70 for you today, what can you tell us about your second round?
MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, not as in control as yesterday, I would say. But happy with the grind. I did lose it a little bit out there just in the middle part. There's some tough holes out there. But it's very easy to get your mind spiraling, but you can't do that at a major championship. So made sure me and Shane, my caddie, had to regroup and thought I played the last seven, eight holes pretty good. But, yeah, the scores are showing that it's a very tough course.
THE MODERATOR: Questions.
Q. You're in a really good position. Not wanting to get ahead of ourselves, but we all play this sport -- or you guys play this sport to win the biggest prices available. What would a major title mean to you?
MIN WOO LEE: Yes, we are getting ahead. No, it's everyone's, every golfer's dream. Yeah, it would be special. You would elevate as a player and, yeah, I don't want to jinx anything, but, yeah, if we get to that question again I would answer it how I feel.
Q. It would be nice for the family as a whole, wouldn't it.
MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, yeah. It is tough. You win one, but you got to win three more to overtake the sister. So there's still a long way to go.
Q. Is this the toughest setup you've ever faced?
MIN WOO LEE: I wouldn't say the toughest, but it is very tough. I think the fairways are wide enough, I think, to not make it the hardest course. But the scores are showing that it is very tough. It is, it feels like a U.S. Open course, with the rough pretty thick, especially around the greens. And it's windy, that doesn't help. Then obviously the undulating greens, it's tough. I saw plenty of putts miss from short range, even myself, and it's just one of those where you can't let your mind spiral. But it is tough, I'm not going to say it isn't tough, because, I mean, it is bloody tough, but, yeah, that's what you expect at a course like this.
Q. Were there any pins or any tee choices that you thought were questionable?
MIN WOO LEE: I mean, obviously the one on 8 going from the hybrid to an 8-iron is a very big difference. But I think we all learned that 8 yesterday was very tough hole. It went from like the toughest to the easiest hole today. So, I mean, I don't think that was expected yesterday. Like even me and Shane, my caddie, we were out there and we hit 4-iron into there on a practice round and then you go out there and you're like, I mean it could be hybrid and that's a 20-yard difference between 4-iron and hybrid. So it kind of took us by surprise a little bit. But you expect that at a major championship, it's supposed to be hard. Some pins were on hills, I would say, and I did see a lot of missed putts on the coverage in the morning when I was up. But again, it's expected, it's tough.
Q. In your last 29 starts you've only missed five cuts. I think dating back to last year's Arnold Palmer, but four of those have come in the last four majors. What's clicked for you this week as you're now tied third going into the weekend?
MIN WOO LEE: I think I just like the way this course shapes up for me. You have to drive it really well, and I have been driving it really well. Approach play is a lot better. The chipping and putting's not too bad too. So I think just becoming a lot better player over the last year, I would say, definitely matured, but the game has matured as well, and that's where we wants to be. Hopefully we can keep going when the circumstances become tougher and especially at a major.
Q. If we get the heat that they're predicting for Saturday and Sunday, does the complexion of the golf course change for the good or for the tougher?
MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, I would say the fairways are running pretty fast already. So if it does become firmer, some of those holes, they do, you know, cam better to the rough, which is obviously going to play a bit tougher. But you would definitely have to play from the fairway if you want to make some birdies. There's a couple holes where I hit 4-iron or a hybrid just to get it in play today. So defending upon the wind, if it does blow, then it's going to be tough. We'll see.
