Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Jin Young Ko after her second round at the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G. Bogey-free round for you today on a very tough course for a lot of players. What did it take to go bogey-free today?

JIN YOUNG KO: I just trying to not afraid to make bogey and I just want to be brave to play on the course.

Yeah, overall I just want to make sure like clearly before I'm hitting the shot. I think it helps a little.

Q. You hit more fairways today than yesterday. Is that the key to success out there?

JIN YOUNG KO: I made two more fairway than yesterday and then it --

Q. Four.

JIN YOUNG KO: Four, okay. That's good.

Well, I didn't think about much. Just play golf and having fun.

Q. You talked about being brave, not being afraid or afraid to make bogeys. How do you do that? What do you tell yourself?

JIN YOUNG KO: When I'm playing, like I came here 2018 and was like eight years ago. When I'm playing that time I didn't have like any scared before I hit the shot.

But getting older, like little more like afraid and think too much about. Because I had so many experience to play, like so many kind of like shape of shot, like all the players.

Well, I'm just trying to like the time, like 2018 through 2021. So, yeah, brave is good key for me, and just have fun with like great players.

Q. You mentioned yesterday you've had some struggles in the early part of the season. What has been the difference for you these two days?

JIN YOUNG KO: I think that is the mental thing, just like brave or not brave.

Q. When do you feel like you weren't being brave?

JIN YOUNG KO: I mean, I'm -- I mean, I got married two month ago and my husband was there last week, and after the game he told me, why you so nervous before you hitting the ball? And he didn't like say that before, like last five years, but he said that.

So, okay. And then after I heard I tried to think about how did I play like last two or three years, and I think I had some scared to play because I want to be better then better. I would say I'm perfection person. That's why I don't want make mistake on the course.

But after I heard that I'm being a human so I can make mistakes on the course and just acceptable. Just trying having fun like ten years old like Jin Young.

So, yeah, my husband said the right thing I think. (Laughter.)
