Quick Quotes

Q. All right, we are joined by Chella Choi after her first round at the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G. A lot of people just talking about the uniqueness of this golf course this week and how tough it is going to be score out here. Can you talk about just what it takes to post a good number out here?

CHELLA CHOI: It's super hard golf course here. Like fairways very narrow and green is -- green is not like flat, like so many bumpy here. If I hit the fairway I really tough to the --to hit the pin. But it's not a flat pin, too, so it's really difficult golf course here.

And rough is very thick, so I just trying to hit the fairway is the key.

Q. You feel like fairways are maybe a little bit more important this week than other weeks out here?

CHELLA CHOI: I think so. Like when I hit really good and hit the center but my ball is going to -- if unlucky, like going to rough is, but probably everybody same, so I trying to like just keep the fairway and hit the green. Like it's more key to playing.

Q. And then this year you've been playing really well; only missed one cut so far. Can you just kind of talk about where your overall game is at heading into this year?

CHELLA CHOI: My whole family give me a lot maybe. I didn't play much last couple year but so I very excited to come back to play.

Before I watching the play last year and couple year, but then I come back to play, I'm more excited to than watching.

Q. How would you describe your overall round today?

CHELLA CHOI: I was very good scrambling today and some really good made of par. Some more chance after that, yeah.

Q. Can you take us through eight? What happened there?

CHELLA CHOI: Oh, yeah, I slip my swing, like on my right foot is a little slip, but before I tee shot like I more checking before like when I standing. Yeah, that's unlucky, but I know why I miss so I trying to more best tomorrow.

Q. What are your thoughts on the closing hole today? You started on the back side so finished on nine. What do you think about that closing par-3?

CHELLA CHOI: Number nine?

Q. Uh-huh.

CHELLA CHOI: It's super difficult, you know, like 200 yard to the par-3 but wind is left to right and right side is two bunker there.

So I just keep focus to go target and hit really well. I didn't make the putt, but I really enjoyed it.

Q. What club did you hit on nine?

CHELLA CHOI: Oh, I can't tell you. (Smiling.) 4-hybrid.

Q. As you're settling in now making more starts being back out here, what do you feel like you found in your game that led to your round today?

CHELLA CHOI: I think hit the fairway first, and when I practice round wind is southwest but today it's northwest, so little upset.

Key is keep fairway and trying to like, how do I call, like make more like a win, yeah.
