Q. It's already first round. How did it go for you?

RICHIE WILLIS: Not the best, I would say I hit too many bad shots really. I hit a couple of real bad -- two tee shots, which cost me two double bogeys, which you can't really afford to do.

I can do better, that's all I can say.

Q. Those 3,000 rounds going to pay off for you?

RICHIE WILLIS: They're going to pay off, definitely. There you are. I think I'll do better tomorrow.

Perhaps some nerves kicked in first off, plus I had all my grandkids running around, and my mind was all over the place at one stage.

But I did my best, and that's all I can do really.

Q. How was it to have your grandkids here this morning?

RICHIE WILLIS: It was great actually. All of my family were here, so got some nice photographs. It was really enjoyable.

Q. How important is it to have their support this week?

RICHIE WILLIS: Absolutely, yeah. If I can I would like to make the cut. I don't know how that will go. Make the cut for Saturday, and then they can come up on Saturday and follow me around, can't they?

Q. Amazing. Do you think they're inspired by you being here?

RICHIE WILLIS: I think so, yeah. I think so. Most definitely.
