KROGER QUEEN CITY CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY P&G

May 12, 2026

Alexandra Swayne

Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Maketewah Country Club

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: All right, we are joined by Alex Swayne ahead of the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G. Alex, just briefly, this is I think your third start on the LPGA Tour. Talk about this week and does it feel any different so far than maybe your first two starts?

ALEXANDRA SWAYNE: I mean, I think I have a huge advantage being at home and being able to sleep in my own bed. My team is around me, so I think that's the difference from the other two starts that I had.

But, yeah, I am happy to be in my backyard.

Q. And then a member at this course; rocking the logo right now.

ALEXANDRA SWAYNE: Yeah.

Q. Can you talk a little bit about how it feels to be here, and has the membership or anything expressed just some sort of feedback to you about you playing this week?

ALEXANDRA SWAYNE: Yeah, I think they're all extra excited that I'm here and I know a lot of them are going to come out and watch.

But I'm an honorary member here. Proud to represent Maketewah. Happy to be here and representing the golf course.

Q. And then you spent a lot of your time on the LET the past couple years. Talk about your experiences there and how do you feel like that's going to prepare you for this week?

ALEXANDRA SWAYNE: Yeah, I feel like I'm a much more well-rounded golfer being on the Ladies European Tour where we're in so many different weather conditions, grasses, golf courses; we're traveling all over the world.

I feel like not only am I well traveled and able to compete at that level, I feel like I can bring that over here. Yeah, just feel like a more well-rounded golfer.

Q. Without giving anything away too much, what do you feel are the key components you need to get around Maketewah well?

ALEXANDRA SWAYNE: Well, I heard they're growing the grass thicker rough-wise, so it's going to be thick and you don't want to miss the fairway.

It's a Donald Ross course so he knows what he's doing, but the greens are going to be very tricky, especially the downhill putts. I mean, they're speedy this week.

So I've seen these greens like this and I was hopefully that Rolin would get them this quick, and he has.

Q. Compared to your playing week in and week out on the Ladies European Tour, your preparation this week, sleeping in your own bed at your home course, is your preparation any different this week compared to being on the LET?

ALEXANDRA SWAYNE: Not really. I just don't have to plug in any address in her my GPS, I just now where I'm going now. Yeah, I'm happy to be at home. I have my dog, my family, got my sister, so home cooked meals is always an add plus.

Nothing too different from being on Tour. Just sleeping in my own bed.

Q. This course features 9 and 18 are both par-3 finishing holes, which is kind of unique in all of golf. Talk about that, about the 9th and 18th hole being par-3 finishes.

ALEXANDRA SWAYNE: Yeah, I can see some hole-in-ones for sure hopefully coming out this week. That would be a great finish to a round. Yeah, they're difficult. No. 9 you can barely see the green and 18 you can see everything and all the stands and everything, so it's going to be tough. I think finishing on a par-3 is -- I like it.

I'm a ball-striker so if I don't have to hit a driver I'm happy with that. So, yeah, both greens are quite difficult. You want to be below the hole. 18 you can't be below the hole, but nine you can chip in and chip up to the hole.

It'll be interesting for sure.

Q. You made the cut in South Africa with that 66. Made the cut again your next event. How important was that for momentum heading into your hometown tournament?

ALEXANDRA SWAYNE: Yeah, I've had a tough go at the beginning of the year. I had surgery in January. Got my tonsils and adenoids out. The previous year I was very sick with long Covid and we decided to take my tonsils out, and I've been recovering since then.

The momentum of that low round and to make the cut in Mauritius was huge for sure.

Q. How is practice going for you at this point throwing out the first pitch?

ALEXANDRA SWAYNE: We did some practice last night. It was with a tennis ball. My dog was confused why we were using one of his toys to practice.

I'm interested to see what my form will be. As long as I get it to the plate I'll be fine.

Q. What was your reaction to getting into the field here this week?

ALEXANDRA SWAYNE: So I landed in United States Virgin Islands after taking third at Q-School on the LET. My dad told me as I was going to baggage claim, and a few tears were definitely shed.

I've been trying to get into this event. I am so grateful that LPGA and Maketewah believes in me, as well as P&G and Kroger.

So I'm happy to be here.

Q. What is your relationship like with Maketewah? How familiar are you with this golf course? And how far does that go back?

ALEXANDRA SWAYNE: Very familiar. I know how to get around this clubhouse and the golf course. I know everyone in the pro shop to the staff, to the kitchen, to the people outside, groundscrew. So very familiar faces and they all know me and I all know them.

Q. Is there anything particularly different that you've noticed getting back here with the course so far for this week versus what you experienced in the past?

ALEXANDRA SWAYNE: No. I mean, Rolin does a great job trying to get this golf course in mint condition every time the members are out here. It's looking great. I'm -- the greens are just quicker.

Q. What sort of advantage do you feel like it gives you just having played this course so many times?

ALEXANDRA SWAYNE: I know the subtle breaks. I know how to play certain holes. I know which ones are breaking holes, which ones will be bogeys, and you just have to walk away and be happy that you got a bogey.

Yeah, I know the lines. There is a huge advantage of already being 100 rounds in versus some of the girls just doing two or three practice rounds.

Q. On Thursday when you tee it up, this is one of the few events in recent memory that your family will be with you on the first tee. Dad will be with you and friends here. Is that going to be any different when you tee off on the first tee that you'll have family and friends?

ALEXANDRA SWAYNE: Yeah, so my dad will not be there. He gets a little too nervous when he watches me play, which is fine. But my mother and my sister and family and friends will definitely be here. So I'm looking forward to seeing familiar faces, but it's definitely tunnel vision with some blind errs on. Just me and my caddie out there.

Q. What are your expectations for this week?

ALEXANDRA SWAYNE: Just to have fun. Stick to my process and I know that will put me in the best position to be in contention.

THE MODERATOR: Thank you so much.

ALEXANDRA SWAYNE: Cheers guys, thank you.
