KROGER QUEEN CITY CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY P&G

May 12, 2026

Jessica Porvasnik

Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Maketewah Country Club

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: We are joined by Jessica Porvasnik ahead of the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G. Can you talk about this week, being back in Ohio and just what it means to be playing in your home state?

JESSICA PORVASNIK: I think it's extra special. It's nice to play golf in your home state and have family and friends follow along. I think that's just kind of the best to cheer you on and be back in Buckeye territory.

Q. And you mentioned your family and friends. Your family is out quite a bit. You have a really good support system. Is that going to grow since you're in Ohio now?

JESSICA PORVASNIK: I think so. It's nice. I had my coach in yesterday, former coach from Ohio State. It's just nice to see everyone, reconnect. She's constantly helping me grow my game.

Q. And then you had a pretty crazy past couple weeks after JM Eagle, getting into Chevron and Mexico and so on, and now reshuffle. Talk about the craziness of the past month or so.

JESSICA PORVASNIK: Yeah, it's been really crazy. Wasn't expecting to get into Chevron. Had a trip planned to Ireland and kind of had to rechange all the plans. Husband got come out to Chevron. Changed the vacation a little bit. It's all for the best.

It's been really cool to see that my game is trending in the right direction and I'm where I want to be.

Q. And then getting where you want to be, you've had a pretty unique pathway to get to the LPGA. WAPT then Epson Tour and now the LPGA. Talk about that journey a little bit.

JESSICA PORVASNIK: Yeah, it's a crazy journey. I never could get through Stage I. It was always my goal, like all right, I'm going to WAPT and going to try to finish Top 5. Then Covid hit that year. I had a good start to the year; Covid hit. It was kind of had to redo it all over again the next year.

Got Top 5; got Epson Tour status for three years, you know, kind of learning the ropes and figuring it all out. And then after the third year got my LPGA card, and last year was -- you know, it's hard being a rookie. I've learned a lot, and I think that's helped me to propel into this year.

Q. We talked to a few other players as well the past couple years, just how big comfortability is out here. Do you feel you're finally getting in that comfortable state and understanding what have to do week in and week out now?

JESSICA PORVASNIK: Yeah, learning what a typical week is out here. It's grueling, and especially where I played three weeks in a row. I was like, wow, when you make the cut and you're constantly playing every day it's so different from WAPT and Epson.

It's just another day you're out here working hard.

Q. Thoughts on the course, Maketewah? What are your initial thoughts on walking around the course?

JESSICA PORVASNIK: So far I've played nine holes; I'll play nine after this. But I played the front nine and it's a really good track. The greens are going to be kind of the key out there this week.

I think hitting lots of greens, putting yourself in the right spot. They definitely have a lot of undulation to them or like slopes, so kind of staying -- trying to stay under the hole when you can I think will be really important.

Q. Is there a sense of because it's in your home state, is there a sense of more comfortableness this week playing out here?

JESSICA PORVASNIK: Yeah, I would say it's always nice to get back to bent grass. For me, I love being up north and playing off the bent grass.

Q. And then last one: You said you played the front; play the back nine today. So this course features a par-3 nine and a par-3 18. Talk about having a par-3 finish here at the tournament.

JESSICA PORVASNIK: I would say that's interesting. You don't often see that. No. 9 is definitely a really good hole. I really like it. It plays really long.

I think that will be an interesting finishing hole really. 18 will be.

Q. Since this is the first time the Tour is seeing this course, can you compare it to any others? Does it seem similar to any that you've played before?

JESSICA PORVASNIK: Out on Epson I would say it kind of resembles South Bend a little bit. The greens were always -- they would get pretty fast, and so you would have to try to stay under the hole.

So that's kind of the one that comes to my mind.

Q. What would you say is the biggest challenge on this golf course that you've seen so far?

JESSICA PORVASNIK: So far I would say going to be the greens, yeah.

Q. You had a chance to play in this tournament last year. How would you describe the overall experience getting to compete as you mentioned back in your home state, what that experience was like, the highlights last year?

JESSICA PORVASNIK: For me it's just having that support week in and week out. Typically my parents will be there week in and week out. My husband comes occasionally.

To have -- I was amazed to see how many people came out and watched my group last year. I don't really have a lot of fans out following my group compared to the other stars, but it was nice to have that support.

Q. How does that affect as a player to have that when you're out there competing?

JESSICA PORVASNIK: For me doesn't really make any nervous. Helps me know that I have a lot of supporters and I do get a lot of texts now and again, so it's nice. But to have them here watching and seeing what you're doing is really nice.

THE MODERATOR: All right, perfect, thank you so much, Jess.

JESSICA PORVASNIK: Thank you.
