Q. Can you explain what it felt like being in a playoff, kind of a unique team playoff situation. What was it like?

JOSELE BALLESTER: It was pretty cool. Happy to share it with my good friend David. I wish it would have ended a different way for us, but happy with the way we fought the last few holes. We gave ourselves a chance and didn't get the team victory.

Q. Were you surprised at all that Sergio picked you two and left himself?

JOSELE BALLESTER: Not really. I felt like I had high chances of making the playoff. He was just a little exhausted. So totally understood.

Q. To see David next week playing in the PGA Championship, does that motivate you to get to the next one to show everyone how good you are?

JOSELE BALLESTER: 100 percent. I just feel like I fell a little short. I feel like maybe if it would have been a week after with this good finish, maybe I could have put myself closer to the top 100 in the world and maybe get that invite.

But pretty happy. Like I said yesterday, it's been less than a year that I've been a pro, and I look back and I'm happy with the progress I've made so far.
