MYRTLE BEACH CLASSIC

May 10, 2026

Blades Brown

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, USA

Dunes Golf and Beach Club

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Blades, another really nice tournament for you and with a 4-under 67 to finish at 13-under. How would you describe today and this week?

BLADES BROWN: I thought this week was awesome. I got off to a hot start. I think I was 3-under through four with four one-putts, which was really nice.

Myrtle Beach is awesome. I would almost call this place home. This is where it all started. This is where I played my first professional event as a 16-year-old, and it's starting on feel like home, which is really cool.

I was happy I was getting to play with it on Mother's Day, and it was awesome.

THE MODERATOR: Speaking of Mother's Day, you had the family out here. How thrilling was that to play in front of them here?

BLADES BROWN: That's one of the things I think is so cool about the PGA TOUR is that you get to have your family watch you compete. That's one thing, I love to compete, but I love even more watching my family walk down the fairways.

It was really special. I was able to have my 83-year-old grandmother come to this tournament. Yeah, every PGA TOUR event is so special, and I was so happy to be able to get to share that with any family this weekend.

THE MODERATOR: There was special temporary membership option on the line for you this week with a really strong finish, and you got in the mix there with birdies on 14 -- 15 and 16. Were you paying attention to that at all during the day? Were you aware of that when you started? What sort of nerves did that bring?

BLADES BROWN: Yeah, I mean, to be honest, I don't know exactly where I stand with all of that. I was just focused on the execution of my golf shots. I can't thank my sponsors Callaway, TravisMathew, and FloQast for how awesome they've been.

It's really easy to play golf whenever you've got an awesome team behind you. Yeah, I was focused on my game and the things that I can control. I just love golf. I love playing. I love getting better, and that was one thing I did this week was I got better.

THE MODERATOR: You're on the cusp of that top-10 number, which would get you a start at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson in Dallas. The bogey on 17 could be critical in that respect given the outcome. What did you do on 17? Talk us through that hole.

BLADES BROWN: Yeah, so I was trying to hit a stock flighted 7-iron 180 yards. I kind of tugged it a little bit. It was back left. Hit an okay putt up there to about half 4 and a half feet, and I hit the putt on the line that I chose. It just didn't go in. I made the putt in my mind, but it just didn't go in.

Yeah, I mean, whatever happens, I'm going to be content. I'm just so focused on becoming the best player that I can be. That's what kind of helps me be able to handle all the stress and all the external factors whenever I'm playing golf.

THE MODERATOR: You might have just answered that question, but given the circumstances, if you did get in the top 10 or if you didn't, that might make the decision easier, but if you did get in the top 10, does that change your schedule, or how do you work that?

BLADES BROWN: That would be awesome. As of right now I'm just focused on the next tournament, which as of right now is Columbia. That's what's next on the schedule, and can't wait to tee it up next week.
