Quick Quotes
Q. Here with Gaby Lopez after her final round here at the Mizuho Americas Open. Really solid finish for you today, especially the eagle on No. 17. Take us through the week.
GABY LOPEZ: Yeah, very solid week overall. I feel that I've been playing very, very solid golf for most part of this year.
Very proud of the work we've put behind. Hit a bunch of fairways, hit a bunch of greens, three putted twice today. Kind of got my momentum down a little bit.
But I'm honestly very, very happy how the week went.
Q. What kind of confidence does this give you heading into -- next week going home for a little bit, but what kind of confidence does this give you heading into the rest of the season?
GABY LOPEZ: Yeah, lots of confidence for sure. It's awesome to be feeling nervous out there. It's awesome to be feeling those butterflies.
I kind of keep reminding myself, hey, embrace it, it's great feeling. We need those nerves in order to focus a little bit more. Yeah, tons of confidence.
Q. Just curious your opinion and the consensus among players just what Nelly and Jeeno have been able to accomplish this season and how you guys look at them as inspiration or how you feel they're dominance has contributed to the Tour?
GABY LOPEZ: Yeah, it's great that we have Nelly as world No. 1. I think it's great for golf. It's great for the sport. She's an American Idol. She's pretty. She's tall. She's all the attributes as a world No. 1.
She has a great sportsmanship. I really enjoyed playing with her last week and every single time we get paired together, looking forward to that challenge.
So, very proud of what Jeeno as well has done. Both of them have been great stars for the Tour.
Q. Just last one: About midway through the season, how do you assess your game?
GABY LOPEZ: Yeah, I'm very excited honestly. There is a lot of things I got to keep working on but, yeah, very excited to be seeing all the hard work we put in behind. Ball striking-wise it's been very solid, so sometimes when you hit that many greens and you don't make that many putts you feel that you're behind.
Once you are hitting it so good you just got to stay patient and just got to trust your lines and hit good speeds out there.
