MIZUHO AMERICAS OPEN

May 9, 2026

Celine Boutier

West Caldwell, New Jersey, USA

Mountain Ridge Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Joining us after the third round of the Mizuho Americas Open is Celine Boutier. Celine, your scores have gotten progressively better through the week. Do you think that's comfortability with the course, change in conditions? What's going into that?

CELINE BOUTIER: I'm not sure. I feel like I learn a little bit more each day on this course. I feel like today the conditions were a little bit more difficult at the end but it was actually really calm the first, you know, like 12 holes or so.

So I feel like it was playing slightly bit easier. I feel like I gave myself more birdie chances, which kind of helped a lot.

Q. You started today with a bogey and remained bogey-free with six birdies after that. How do you reset your mindset after a start like that to have such a flawless round?

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, it was not the best start. I definitely feel like I try to forget it as best I could because this course is so difficult. I was just trying to restart and give myself chances, and I feel like I took advantage of the par-5s and hit some good shots on the par-3s, which give me a lot of chances.

Even though I didn't make a lot putts, I feel like I made a decent amount because I gave myself a lot of chances.

Q. You're in a position to chase tomorrow, which is not something you're unfamiliar with. Do you think you'll play aggressive or head down, focus on yourself?

CELINE BOUTIER: I think this course is very tricky because you can't be too aggressive otherwise, you can leave yourself some tough shots and tough putts.

Sometimes you have to be a little bit conservative, and that's kind of the way that you leave yourself the best chance of making a birdie.

I feel like you have to be pretty smart and kind of like almost patient about it, because sometimes you're tempted to go for things but it's not always the smartest choice.

I feel like kind of learning which areas of the pin or like of the green you want to be on for your next is kind of helpful.
