Mountain Ridge Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Hannah, fantastic round today. 4-under, 5-under on the front. What was working so well for you during the first nine holes?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I hit a lot of greens. I think I hit all the fairways and greens and felt like I gave myself the easiest putts to those pin locations on the front nine.

Found it quite hard to keep the momentum into the back nine. Got a little bit windier and gustier. I think the front nine was probably the more scorable nine, especially with the par-5s.

Yeah, just got off to a really hot start.

Q. And 17, rain started coming down for you. Curious just from a player/caddie perspective what kind of adjustments do you need to make in order to still hit great golf shots?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I decided to hit 3-wood off that tee. I wanted to kind of stay short of the hazard. They've moved it up to obviously make us be able to go for it in two.

It went further than I thought considering how it's getting cold and rainy, and, so, yeah, just making sure that, one, the club face is definitely dry so I can at least predict what the swing was going to be like.

But, yeah, I don't like to wear my rain jacket. So I felt like the rain was getting heavy; I kind of needed to put it on. I think we got lucky that it was probably only just that 17th hole that we experienced rain.

I think the forecast looked pretty bad for this afternoon, so they obviously moved our tee times forward. Yeah, it was just trying to stay patient and take it step by step.

Q. You're playing such fantastic golf this season; going for your third win. What was going to take to get it done?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I'm going to have to do exactly what I did on the front nine: put myself in good positions off the tee as well as on the greens.

I felt like on the back nine I had a couple of opportunities to make a birdie but it was a downhill putt, so you just can't be aggressive. I think Jeeno is leading. She is obviously world No. 1 for a reason. It's going to be hard to chase her down.

If I just worry about my own game, hopefully I can post a good score.
