MYRTLE BEACH CLASSIC

May 9, 2026

Beau Hossler

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, USA

Dunes Golf and Beach Club

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Third round, 64 highlighted by a really solid front nine, 30. How would you assess your third round?

BEAU HOSSLER: It was solid. I'm a little salty right now. I felt like I could have had three or four more on the back nine, but such is golf, right?

Really solid top to bottom. Putted really nicely. Drove it really well, and hit some quality irons. That's obviously a recipe for a good round, and that's what we got.

THE MODERATOR: What's to count more in particular, the birdies or maybe the ones you wanted to fall in?

BEAU HOSSLER: I'm going to make a choice to focus on the good ones. How about that?

THE MODERATOR: Mac, similar round. How was it playing off one another when you guys are both kind of clicking?

BEAU HOSSLER: Yeah, he played awesome. I don't know what he shot, but it had to be about the same as me, right?

THE MODERATOR: Same round.

BEAU HOSSLER: He played really well. Obviously holed a bunker shot maybe there on was that maybe 13, the par-5, but top to bottom he played awesome. Made some putts. Hit the ball well.

To your point, playing with someone that's also playing well I think is helpful. Kind of keeps you in the moment a little bit more just because it feels like everybody involved is making birdie.

Yeah, he played really well. I do think we fed off each other a fair amount, especially for me early. Then he played really nicely on the back nine.

Very comfortable pairing.

THE MODERATOR: Third time playing here. What do you like about this course?

BEAU HOSSLER: It's a good golf course. It's in phenomenal shape this year. This is probably the best shape it's been in. I would say more than anything, you got to do pretty much everything well. You definitely need to get it into play off the tee just because Bermuda greens typically are pretty firm if there's not a lot of spin on your ball coming from the rough.

With that said, there's a couple greens on this course that are very, very challenging to hit. Like number seven and number nine. You have pretty much a table top to land on the green to stop it. Just trying to be patient on those holes and then take advantage of the par-5s and a few shorter par-4s.

All in all, you know, a really quality golf course. I think everybody in the field would attest to that.

Q. When you are 6-under after seven holes, do your feelings change? How do you manage? Do your expectations change? How does that feel when you are doing that out there?

BEAU HOSSLER: Yeah, I suppose there's a little bit of a change. I don't know exactly what it is. I think the goal, right, to get back into the mentality that you had 45 minutes ago when you were 2-under through three or whatever it was. I think I did a nice job of that.

The way this course sets up there's kind of patches of holes that are really gettable. It's very gettable at the beginning. Then kind of the middle of the round holes five through nine are quite challenging, so you are just trying to make pars. Then the back nine gives you some really good opportunities. Then hole 18 is, I mean, very predicated on the tee ball, but you have to really hit a quality shot there.

Yeah, I think at the end of the day I got off to a beautiful start. I took advantage of the holes I needed to. I even got a couple of birdies on holes that you're really just trying to make par. From there, I think the goal is just to keep hitting quality shot after quality shot and make good decisions and commit to what you're doing. Effectively I felt like I did that. I had a couple of putts that I didn't read very well on the back nine. I missed a couple of short putts that were just poor reads.

Then at the end of the round, you know, had a few good opportunities and hit some quality shots that just didn't go in, but it's hard to complain with a 7-under par round on a pretty good golf course.

Q. A couple of top-25s this season. What sort of have you changed anything to get yourself into this position going into tomorrow?

BEAU HOSSLER: Yeah, just tinkering with the golf swing really. Just trying to get my iron play just like the last nine years out here just trying to get better at it iron play. I've got a new driver in the bag, the GTS Titleist driver. It's been for me a significant upgrade. I feel a lot more comfortable driving the ball accurately. Seem to have a little bit more right bias, which is kind of what I prefer to see off the tee.

I'd prefer my misses to be to the right rather than to the left. I put that in in Houston, and since then I feel like I -- I haven't seen the stats or anything, but just certainly my comfort level over the driver has improved significantly, which is exciting.

I feel like around the greens and on the greens I've always been a particularly good player. If I can get to the green a little bit faster, I'll be in good shape.

Q. Beau, you've seen this golf course as much as anyone, three years now. What would it take for this to be a full-field event golf course? Would it just mean growing the rough a little bit more? What would you assess?

BEAU HOSSLER: No, this is harder than many golf courses we play with 500-point events. The golf course is plenty good, plenty hard.

You know, what am I out, maybe 12 or 13-under par. Likely the winning score for the week will be, I don't know, call it 18, something in that range. I think you see plenty of golf tournaments in full-point events that are 18- to 25-under par.

No, you know, if this golf course -- if we got even a little bit more wind, it would be two or three shots harder per round. It's that style of course.

THE MODERATOR: Finally, looking at the logo on your hat, Barista. What's it been like to do that venture, something off the course?

BEAU HOSSLER: It's been awesome. I don't have a wife or kids, so to have something to really invest my mental energy into has been awesome. I feel like I've always been an entrepreneur at heart at some level. To try and learn the ropes of running a business and trying to execute it at a really high level has been an awesome journey.

I've got some amazing people involved and seemingly the feedback has been phenomenal. Just hoping to keep doing more with that, but yeah, it's been really fulfilling even just thus far just to really have something to round out kind of my days more than just trying to hit 7-iron straight.

THE MODERATOR: What's been the feedback from other players?

BEAU HOSSLER: I've got a good list of clients. I'm not going to name names, but we've got a lot of players out here and friends of mine that do some other really cool stuff that are supportive of the brand. We've been out on TOUR doing some coffee cart stuff in player and caddie dining this year about six or seven times, and that feedback has been awesome too.

I get asked 20 or 30 times a week when we're coming out next to do an event, so that puts a smile on my face, for sure. It's cool to have something to talk to everybody about except for golf. I'm glad I've kind of embarked on this journey, and I'm looking forward to more.
