MIZUHO AMERICAS OPEN

May 9, 2026

Allisen Corpuz

West Caldwell, New Jersey, USA

Mountain Ridge Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Joining us after the third round of the Mizuho Americas Open is Allisen Corpuz. Allisen, 6-under round today. The back has been playing tricky, but you had five birdies. Talk a little bit about what was going well for you or if you felt like the conditions were any different today.

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, definitely. I mean, I think it was a bit lucky just to be the second group off. The wind was a lot less than it has been the last two days, and I just felt like a few of the pins fit my eye a little better. Made a few longer putts as well just for those birdies, and mostly just kept it in play all day long.

Hit a lot of fairways, hit a lot of greens, and then was lucky to make a few putts.

Q. It's called moving day for a reason. You got yourself right up in there contention. What do you think will be important to close this out tomorrow?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I think like it's a tough course. Like just trying to minimize bogeys. I feel like every day I've made enough birdies. It's just really been about maybe making a few too many bogeys, maybe getting out of position.

This is one of those courses where especially they've tucked a few of the pins, you short side yourself into a bunker or something and suddenly you hit a good chip shot or bunker shot and you're still looking at 20-footer for par.

So just looking at like which side is good to miss on and taking the opportunities as they come. I think the par-5s have been really accessible this week.

Q. You played with an AJGA girl in your group today. Can you talk about what that is like and what it's like seeing the juniors out here competing with you guys?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Absolutely. It's such an awesome event to just be able to play alongside them. I actually haven't played well enough at this event to play with a junior yet, so it was really was fun for that to be my first experience today.

It's just awesome to see the next generation of women's golf like up and coming and just how good they are. I mean, a few of their tee boxes were a bit of ahead of our, but for the most part they're basically playing the same course as us and keeping up.

I was kind of telling Jay, I mean, our junior Alexandra, she hit this amazing flop shot on 17 to like a foot from the left side of the green.

Yeah, it's just really impressive to see how good they are.

Q. And then tournament host, Michelle Wie West, is also from Hawai'i. Have you had any type of relationship with her or is she someone that you looked up to as you were going through your golf career?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I looked up to her for a very long time. Used to see her out at Ko Olina grinding when I was a young junior.

Now I've been able to meet her and lucky to know her. Just what she's accomplished is really impressive, both on the golf side and now as a tournament host, as a mother.

It's been awesome to see her move through the different stages of life and is really inspirational.
