MIZUHO AMERICAS OPEN

May 8, 2026

Arpichaya Yubol

West Caldwell, New Jersey, USA

Mountain Ridge Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Arpichaya Yubol after her second round here at the Mizuho Americas Open. Very solid 4-under. More importantly, one of the few players so far to have gone bogey-free in very tough conditions. What was the key to success to going bogey-free today?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: So I think this course kind of same U.S. Women like last two year Lancaster. Like everything, the green, the wind, the fairways.

So my game plan this week is try to be short is better than long. Try to be like short stay anywhere, because like mostly the green, they have slope like around like around the green except like the middle on the green.

So every time I talk with caddie, like we just plan to keep it short, even short not on the green. Like chip is still easier to get the ball on the green with like long -- like over/under pin position.

So, yeah, that is my plan.

And then, yeah, just keep make two putt every hole as I can do, yeah.

Q. You kind of mentioned the greens, but those have been notoriously tricky all week long. What's been the strategy to attacking the green? Simple as chipping it short and two putt or any other sort of strategy to it?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: Yeah, mostly it's kind of like that. But we have like some short par-5 that you can make birdie so just try to be aggressive a little bit with the second shot. Try like -- try to hit like on the green and then try to make like easy like way as you can do.

But mostly -- so my game today, like just try to make par. I don't have to like, you know -- LPGA they always put the pin position like really hard position. I just keep like to play like big thing, big image and big card.

Like everything especially the wind is kind of windy like all day so just keep control the ball like in the middle of the green and just make easy par, yeah.

Q. You were extremely accurate off the tee today. Hit all 14 fairways, only missed two over the week. What's been the reason behind that?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: You mean like...

Q. Not missing any fairways, being extremely accurate off the tee.

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: Really?

Q. You didn't miss any today and only two yesterday.

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: Oh. (Laughter.) I not even know that.

Q. What's working super well off the tee box?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: Yeah, so I always check the wind first because mostly the fairway is more open. Kind of big fairways so just try to keep control more than to like hit hard, like hit long.

And, yeah, so my game is kind of control almost every shot include my driver, yes.

Q. Lastly, what's the mindset heading into the weekend?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: Just make sure you have food enough before go to the course.

Q. That's a great mindset?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: Yeah, yes. Like we walk a lot, especially with the weather like this, cold, you know, it's big different for me from Mexico.

Like I can wear the clothes like oh, relaxing, put some sunscreen. This week, no, you have to put like one, two, maybe three now. Then we have three weather on the one day. We have rain, cold, and hot.

So just make sure you have food enough, yes.

Q. You played really well in Mexico. Do you think that momentum has helped you this week?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: Yes. So, that's make like how do you say, bring my confidence coming back a lot. Like even like I hit the bad shot, but I'm still keep thinking like on positive shot like all the time.

And then, yeah, that's make me more confident, yes.
