Quick Quotes
Q. All right, joined by Hye-Jin after her first round here at the Mizuho Americas Open. Got off to a great start. Birdie, eagle, birdie stretch. Take us through those holes.
HYE-JIN CHOI: (Through translation.) I had a really good start. Overall my shot was really not really good, but I made some good long putting and I had a good start.
On the back nine I made lots of good saves so it I think ended to a good round.
Q. A lot of players today said that the greens have been really, really tricky. Do you agree with that? What were maybe some of the keys to finding success on those greens?
HYE-JIN CHOI: (Through translation.) So during my practice rounds and pro-am I thought that the green was so fast and it was tricky, so today I just thought that I should just hit it really softly and I made some good distance and made a lot of good saves.
Q. People have said too that that course could play like a major championship course. Do you agree with that?
HYE-JIN CHOI: Yeah, of course.
Q. What about it makes it feel like a major?
HYE-JIN CHOI: (Through translation.) Everything.
Q. Anything specific?
HYE-JIN CHOI: (Through translation.) Yeah, so it's a really tough course. There is lots of slopes on the green and the speed is so fast and the rough around the green is really long.
Even if I made second shot on the green, I still have to concentrate until the end to make a par. And also this course has lots of wind so I think this makes this course really difficult.
