Q. Okay, here with Lizette after her third round here at the Mexico Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba. What's it been like for you to be out here playing again?

LIZETTE SALAS: It's a gift, you know, to even just step on the first tee. Like I talked about in LA, it's just been such a grind to get back to competitive golf. And to not only make the cut here but playing pretty consistent and grinding just the way I know how feels really great.

You know, I could get emotional just talking about the ups and downs of the injury and stuff, but really it's really nice to be in a place that I feel like is like a second home being in Mexico and having my parents here, just playing the game I really love to play.

Q. And can you put into words maybe in a sentence or two, like you said you probably could talk about it a lot, what it's taken to get back to this point?

LIZETTE SALAS: It's taken a lot of pride, guts, and pure love of competition just to be back out, and just belief in myself. I know like throughout my career I kind of driven off momentum from others, like my family and my friends and community. This time it was solely me and just the level of satisfaction of doing it is like on another level.

So guts, grit, and just pride in just coming back, yeah.

Q. And then your family being here this week, how important is it for you especially?

LIZETTE SALAS: Yeah, no, it was a big goal of mine to come and play. I'm not too sure how much longer I have out here but I wanted to take every opportunity.

So I switched the intro to where my parents are from, just a little like thank you to them and for all the sacrifice and love and everything they put into the sport with me. Like I thought it would being cool to do that for them.

It felt nice, you know, just to tap into that side of who I am and I get to represent that this week which is really nice.
