THE MODERATOR: Pleased to be joined by Maria Jose Marin ahead of the Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba. Can you talk to us a little bit about just being in Mexico and how things have been.

MARIA JOSE MARIN: So being here is always a joy. Well, I'm Colombian, but like I was born in Mexico so it's like always been really good being in my home because it is considered my home still.

Yeah, I've had a fun week. Fun day with the pro-am just getting know the course. It's amazing. The course is in great shape. And just getting to spend the week by the beach is always a great thing.

Q. Playing this week as a sponsor invite, how fun is it to be out here playing on the LPGA?

MARIA JOSE MARIN: It's always really fun getting to play on the LPGA. I think it's a privilege to get a sponsor's exemption into the week. I think just getting an invite into any event, yeah, as I said, it is a privilege. Every amateur dreams of it.

I think I'm just going to take every little experience and all of the -- a lot of learnings from the week going ahead into more tournaments.

Q. It's been a crazy month or so for you after winning ANWA. Can you just try to put into words what the past month has been like?

MARIA JOSE MARIN: I think if I had to put it into a word it's been crazy. After ANWA just my life took a huge, huge turn, for the good. More people have recognized me. There has been a lot of congratulations coming from all over the world and especially from my country, Colombia, and also from Mexico and the university.

I was used to just walking in the street and now there are people saying, hey, congrats, which is something I'm still not used to. But it's great just to see all of my hard work, it's paying off.
