Q. About Nicolai, you say he is a nice guy, nice Next Gen talent. You say however, I don't like clay, but you're performing very well. What do you think?

DANIIL MEDVEDEV: Yeah, I mean, in general I just prefer, for many, many different reasons, hard court or even grass, but more hard courts. But I know I can play well on clay as well. I'm happy that here I manage to do it because in Monte Carlo I didn't.

Here I managed to play really good tennis, aggressive, great forehand, backhand, serve. So happy about it and looking forward.

Q. Next round maybe you can have Flavio or Vallejo. What do you think about both players?

DANIIL MEDVEDEV: Yeah, I don't know, of course, Vallejo too well, but he was a sparring partner in Turin a long time ago. I really liked the way he was playing, so it's fun to see him on tour.

Flavio, we know each other very well. He plays very good. He probably prefers clay to other surfaces. So I know that, you know, keep a bit more spin and stuff like this.

But I'm feeling good, and I'm going to enjoy their match, and get ready for the winner.

Q. I would like to know about your opinion about Jodar, the new Spanish talent. You have seen him?

DANIIL MEDVEDEV: I haven't seen a lot, but I saw a bit yesterday; the first set, and some highlights, of course. I think it's absolutely unreal what he's doing for his age. Especially, not only now beating all these guys, but from where he's coming, like 900 last year, and to go into the top 40, it's very rare that people do it. So I think huge talent.

Then it always becomes a question of, do you become someone who is like in final in every Grand Slam, which we can know some guys like this now or before; or is he just a very good player. And this is, you know, you never know, but he's playing unbelievable tennis, and he's fun to watch.
