Q. Celebrating the lowest round ever here at TPC Louisiana, and we mentioned that golf at times can kick you back. The course did a little kicking today, Matt.

MATT FITZPATRICK: It certainly did, yeah. Yeah, I felt like we played great for the first 11 holes. We were really, really, really steady, really solid and didn't really put a foot wrong. Yeah, just the one hole on 12, you've made that, and you quickly are sort of scrambling a little bit.

From then on I felt like I struggled with my game, and I didn't play well. Alex played fantastic. He really sort of managed to keep us in it, and to hit that shot on 17 like he did under pressure, knowing that give ourselves a chance at birdie, we've got a win, to hit that shot was fantastic.

Q. Alex, with the victory, you're eligible for a two-and-a-half-year exemption on the PGA TOUR. Are you officially going to become a PGA TOUR member?

ALEX FITZPATRICK: I am, indeed, yeah, yeah. I signed as quick as I could. I'm still shaking, and yeah, it was crazy.

Q. Matt talked about your shot into the par-3 16th. The chip you hit on 13 I thought was remarkable. I said, if he flinches at all, the tendency on that short shot is to decel at the end. If you do, you're hitting it 100 yards. It was such a courageous win, and you pulled it off perfectly.

ALEX FITZPATRICK: Yeah, I feel like my short game is probably the strongest part of my game. Yeah, it wasn't the prettiest of lies I had. It's one of them, like, you've bailed me out so many times, it was nice to kind of do something for him.

So, yeah, I could barely feel my hands at that point. So happy I kind of gave him a chance at par, yeah.

Q. Matt, take me through the bunker shot at 18. You raised your hands right after contact. I thought the ball was going too far, but you spun it. Did you know it was perfect when you hit it, or did you think you may have gone over the green?

MATT FITZPATRICK: Yeah, I got to the ball, and the lie was unbelievable. I couldn't have placed it on a better tee. So I knew, like, I was going to have to hit it, wind it all the way there. Did I plan that perfectly? Honestly, no, but you know, yeah, I played it to perfection. What more can I say?

Q. You won't remember this. No need to, but I called the play-by-play and walked 18 holes with you on Sunday at the country club. I think this last month is the best golf I've ever seen you play. Why is that?

MATT FITZPATRICK: It's true. Yeah, a lot of the credit goes to the people that work with me. I've said it in Valspar, and I'll stay it again. Mark Blackburn has been fantastic in my game, and Phil Kenyon has been incredible. My trainer, Andrew, and Nick and RAY with Protiviti and Steve Robinson.

I have a big team, and everyone goes above and beyond to make me a better player. Yeah, I'm absolutely delighted.
