Quick Quotes
Q. All right, joining us after the final round of The Chevron Championship is Ryann O'Toole. Ryann, you had a great week this week. Can you just reflect on all four rounds and the experience you had out here?
RYANN O'TOOLE: I will take a top 10, especially coming from going back to Q-School last year. I just felt like the last few weeks I've been seeing some really positive stuff, some consistency, some sparks of some, you know, things just consistently working.
I feel like this week I started off the first two days I was making a ton of putts. I think that set the tone. You know, I wish -- I felt like I struck it better on the weekend, but then stopped making the putts like the first two days. I as hoping for the combo, but I'll still take the top 10. Hopefully that stands right now.
I mean, course is hard. It's long. The winds kicks up and makes it really long. Par-3s can be very tricky. But it's a really fun course, so I'm really glad they moved it here.
I enjoyed it.
Q. Not to call it out, but you're the oldest player to make the cut. Can y9ou talk about how this week proved that you still have it?
RYANN O'TOOLE: Am I the oldest player if Stacy doesn't play?
Q. To make the cut?
RYANN O'TOOLE: I know, I know. But, hey, as long as I can still keep up with the 17 year old I played with on the first two days, Charley is nine years younger than me; hit it past her or with her, or sometimes she passed me, as long as I can stay in that realm I don't care how old I am.
Q. With Chevron increasing the purse this week my $1 million, JM Eagle increased it last week, a lot of fans out here. How have you seen the development of women's golf and the momentum?
RYANN O'TOOLE: My caddie and I say it every week and said it again today and the last few days, the crowds out here have been phenomenal. The recognition and the publicity of women's golf and how it's trending in such a positive direction, thank you to our sponsors for constantly pushing the envelope of the purses.
We can't be thankful enough for that and these opportunities. I think about this is my 16th year on Tour. If I think about what I made my rookie year, it's unbelievable.
Like top 40 made me $187,000. It's an astronomical difference. I'm just glad I get to be part of that and this growth. I love seeing it.
Q. Can you talk a little bit about the work you been doing all these years yourself and with Jorge to stay young like you are?
RYANN O'TOOLE: Yeah, Jorge knows me very well. We have been working together since 2014. He know how to keep my game just -- keep trending and also like if I get a little off, so like during tournament weeks, like what do I need to hear or what do I need, little tweaks.
But offseason we did a lot of great work. I felt like last year my driver was not my friend. It really hurt. Like was just kind of crippling to my rounds. Now I feel like I got it back and I got extra distance out of it. It's an asset now rather than something I feared having to hit.
So thanks to Jorge and constantly working with me. He's always evolving. I think the work that I do in the gym with my trainer Gary, he's definitely put some muscle on me and I think I have gotten stronger and faster in that regard as well.
I just said, look, I might be 39, but I don't want feel it. So let's do whatever I can.
Q. How much does it feel like that experience helped you in a week like this and your mindset?
RYANN O'TOOLE: It definitely does help in a week like this. To think back being my first year on Tour to now, you know, I still get nerves and all that, but it's different. You know, you learn to control them and you learn the moments. You learn that when you mess up to not give it up. I think that really goes far.
