THE CHEVRON CHAMPIONSHIP

April 25, 2026

Nelly Korda

Houston, Texas, USA

Memorial Park Golf Course

Quick Quotes

Q. Joining us after the third round of The Chevron Championship is Nelly Korda. Obviously a little bit more of a battle out there today. How did you stay focused on the golf course?

NELLY KORDA: Just focusing on one shot at a time. I played really solid on the front and then just kind of -- not may have lost concentration, but the wind started picking up and then I just put myself into -- I mean, I put myself into great positions; didn't kind of execute really well.

Q. How do you stay focused, locked in going into tomorrow with a major championship on the line?

NELLY KORDA: Yeah, I mean, this is why we do it, right, to be in contention on major championship Sunday?

I'm just going to focus on myself, kind of work on my process, really dial into that, make sure that I have tunnel vision, and not really focus on the exterior noise.

Q. I know you focus on your game, but what can you say about Patty and the scrambling around the course she was able to do today?

NELLY KORDA: Yeah, it was pretty incredible. She is definitely -- she was definitely making some insane up and downs and she has this flow to her chipping and to her entire game where it looks super easy. She looks very confident around the greens.

Q. How would you describe the conditions out there, like the heat, humidity, all that?

NELLY KORDA: The heat was really hot this afternoon. It was very humid. The wind picked up I think towards the middle to end of our round, which you kind of maybe see that with the scores, afternoon scores kind of not being as good as the morning because I think in the morning it was a little calmer.

Q. After your tee shot on 15, looked like you were smiling. Jason looked like he was giving you a talk. What was that about?

NELLY KORDA: Just trying to stay in it. Just have more golf left to play. That's about it.

Q. Did you watch any of Rory's third round at the Masters when he had the big lead and let some people back in?

NELLY KORDA: Honestly I did not watch much of the Masters. Yeah, I have to say that I was just out practicing and it was during like a weird window. I would watch in the mornings and at night, but not the whole round. I know he wasn't hitting his driver the best and scrambling that week. That's all I know.

Q. How do you approach tomorrow from just a mental standpoint?

NELLY KORDA: Just focusing on myself. Like at the end of the day it's a clean slate. It's 18 holes. It's new pin locations, new tee boxes, whatever they push up, whatever they push back.

You know, I'm starting the day at zero.

Q. How much did you relish every one of those opportunities?

NELLY KORDA: I love them. I mean, at the end of the day I'm learning so much about myself, too. I mean, on the back nine I learned that I needed to stay in it and not to kind of focus so much on my miss-hits with my putts.

So I just needed to keep giving myself opportunities which I was. I don't want it to bleed into the other parts of my game where then I start to get so frustrated that it affects my driver, affects my irons. Just didn't want that at all. I wanted to continue giving myself opportunities even if I want holing them.

I was still trying my best, and at the end of the day that's all I can control, is I want to try my best and execute at the best of my ability. I can't be frustrated with anything but that.
