TV Quick Quotes

Q. Maja Stark, ten consecutive pars to start the day but then started to get things going on the back side. How would you describe the day overall?

MAJA STARK: I'd say pretty slow. I mean, I think the back nine is harder than the front nine, so I was pretty fine with just walking around with pars. Then obviously made a stupid bogey on No. 2. Felt like I could relax a bit. Feels like that happens sometimes.

So, yeah, then got my eagle and birdies, and after that I felt like we were, yeah, playing well again. Felt like I could shape the shots I wanted to. Yeah, it was a fun day.

Q. When I spoke with you yesterday you said you weren't too happy with your game coming into this week. You obviously found something here through these first two days. What do you feel like that is?

MAJA STARK: I think obviously with the practice days being rained out a lot, had a lot of time to just think and reflect on my game and what I did well last week and what I didn't do so well.

I think I didn't have enough practice time to overthink stuff either, so it was just very efficient. I think that was very good for my energy levels and just kind of trusting what I have right now.

Q. I mentioned some of the action on the back today. Let's take a look at some highlights starting with the eagle at three.

MAJA STARK: Yeah, I felt like I had the perfect number and then kind of nice when it is sitting in the first cut like that. Then like I just saw the shape and I felt like I could come in with a fade there and leave it a few short of the green.

Obviously didn't really mean to go that much straight at the pin, but, yeah.

Q. And then up ahead at the fourth you had this long look at birdie.

MAJA STARK: Yeah, that one was a little funky because it was a dead straight putt; don't love those. Felt like I could just trust and didn't have to overthink everything much.

Q. And then another huge opportunity here at eight. What did you see in this?

MAJA STARK: Was a little bit of a double breaker. Stood a little bit of a weird on that slope, but then I just thought, I can't see anything other than the right edge so I trusted it and went for it.
