THE CHEVRON CHAMPIONSHIP

April 24, 2026

Chiara Tamburlini

Houston, Texas, USA

Memorial Park Golf Course

Quick Quotes

Q. Joining us after the second round of The Chevron Championship is Chiara Tamburlini. Chiara, great round today. Sitting at 2-under. Can you just talk about coming out here and playing well in your first Chevron as an LPGA Tour member.

CHIARA TAMBURLINI: Yeah, honestly super happy with how today went, really like the last 27 holes. I had a rough start yesterday. I think i was 4-over through nine, so really proud of myself for sticking through, to be honest.

Last year I had a similar experience having a rough start and I was not able to turn it around. I feel like I learned a lot from that. It's not done until it's done.

It's a difficult golf course, but the par-5s are definitely gettable and you can make a couple birdies coming in, so, yeah, I did that so very happy overall.

Q. What does it mean to be able to prove you can get in there and get gritty and stay in it after a rough start?

CHIARA TAMBURLINI: It means a lot. I feel like I've been doing lots of work mentally as well, and I think that's paying off. Confidence might be low if you keep missing shots, and felt like I was missing by a tiny little bit, but we all know like it's a game of small margins.

On this golf course you might be hitting your landing spot by just a little bit and runs off 20 yards from the flag. So it's about sticking through.

I feel like mentally I've been doing a lot of good work, and to see that pay off is really nice. To be honest it was far from perfect. I still hit a lot of questionable golf shots. But it was just staying in it I think that made the difference.

Q. It's your rookie season on the LPGA Tour. Leading up to this major as the first of the season, how is your preparation and scheduling looking different now that you're on Tour full time?

CHIARA TAMBURLINI: Yeah, it's definitely a bit different traveling more in the U.S. It's actually been very fun. I went to school at Ole Miss so hadn't traveled much on the west coast, so the first couple events were all new destinations for me, so that was really fun.

I feel like I've been making some friends. People are very friendly. I've been really lucky. Game has been a bit up and down, but overall I would say kind of trending. I'm starting to feel more comfortable on this Tour as well, which is a nice feeling, yeah.
