Yuka Saso

Houston, Texas, USA

Memorial Park Golf Course

Quick Quotes

Q. Joining us after the second round of The Chevron Championship is Yuka Saso. Yuka, you went low today when a lot of other people aren't. What was going well for you out on the course?

YUKA SASO: Overall I was hitting it pretty consistent and putted really good, too. So, yeah, was good day.

Q. This is your first under-par round in a major since its 2024 U.S. Women's Open. Talk about how this gets you in the right mindset heading into the weekend.

YUKA SASO: Yeah, it's good to play good. I haven't played well in the last couple weeks, so, yeah, it's good to have that in my bag. And, yeah, very excited for the weekend.

Q. New venue this year. At a course like this, what do you think is important to capitalize on? Is it tee shots? Getting onto the green in regulation?

YUKA SASO: Everything. It's a major championship. You have to hit it good on the tee and really good second shot. If you miss the green you really have to have a good short game and, yeah, pretty much everything. But how long the golf course is playing, yeah, need to hit it really. Really far.
