Q. Joining us here today after the first round The Chevron Championship is Yan Liu. Yan, a strong 4-under round today. Can you talk about your round?

YAN LIU: I think today I have very solid driver because this course setup very far and the fairways very soft.

I think very important to have very good driver. I think every tee shot use the driver, so I think very good thing is I made a lot of fairway today.

But I missed two, and one is 18.

Q. Obviously new venue this year. Can you share some insights from the first round out there about the course specifically?

YAN LIU: I think we missed a round for the pro-am, so kind of not really know about the course right now yet. But I think overall the golf course was very good. After the PGA I think the course doesn't change anything. It still feel very good, and I think, yeah, it's new course for everybody.

Q. What do you think will be most important out there this week? Is it going to be hitting fairways? Putting? What do you think is the key to this golf course?

YAN LIU: I think you have to give approach shot -- you have to give yourself a lot of birdie chance because this course very easy to have bogeys and very easy to make a mistake. You have to get more chance to make the birdies.

Q. Which birdie are you most -- did you feel like really got your round going?

YAN LIU: I think I have a four birdie straight in a row. I think the first is very important. That was par-3. This week every par-3 is very far and difficult, so I think I made that birdie it's give me more confidence.

Q. And how long was that putt?

YAN LIU: A yard. (?)

Q. Can you talk about your thoughts on how you've set yourself up for the week by going low today?

YAN LIU: I think the course will getting firm and I think I just stay my patient and no expectation this week.

Q. How did you prepare this week and how many times did you play the course? How many holes did you get in?

YAN LIU: I only play 18 holes. Nine hole at the Monday, nine hole Wednesday. So I think getting to the way I think I know more the course, about more, I think will be goal better.
