Quick Quotes
Q. Joining us after the final round of the JM Eagle LA Championship is Ina Yoon. Ina, you had a great week this week. Can you just reflect on the week as a whole?
INA YOON: Yeah, this week like was the best week I ever had in LPGA. Yeah, like I had many mistake today, I mean, whole week. I made a lot of miss shot and missed a lot of short putts, but I think I focus on my process really well.
So, yeah, I'm so proud of it.
Q. You had a really strong second nine today, including an eagle and nearly a hole-in-one. What was going through your mind during those two holes, 16 and 17?
INA YOON: Not much big different in my mind. Just try to refocus because it's only three holes left for this week. Okay, I'm going to make like nice shot like each shot, every shot here.
Like, okay, was both good shot was 9-iron. Was really -- which is my favorite iron that works great.
I mean, it's so nice.
Q. How does this week give you confidence for the rest of the 2026 season?
INA YOON: The season starts way nicer than last year, so I'm kind of hoping have one win in this year. But I'm doing great, so let's just not force to get win. Just do my process well, like improve every week, so one day I might be there. (Smiling.)
Q. It was great to watch you on the back nine. It was a pleasure to see you play so well. One thing that came to my mind was the way you processed great shots and just a regular shot. Your demeanor doesn't change. It seems like you're able to keep yourself so calm through the highs and the lows. How do you do that? Walk me through your process.
INA YOON: I started working with Paul this week, and he said just embrace the result, whatever you had, and just refocus what you need to do. Just have a clear target and just commit to that shot. So I think that's helped a lot this week, yeah. I will continue to do the process rest of the year.
Q. Specifically hole 16, second shot into the green on a par-5. It's a really undulated green. Walk me through that shot. Were you aiming where you wanted it land to take the slope? Were you aiming at the pin and you kind of pushed a little bit. Walk me through that shot because it was fantastic shot.
INA YOON: Yeah, thanks. I mean, I aim a little lefter than that, but of course just aim more righter than pin because they have slope and there is water hazard line with the pin, so try not to be cute.
So, yeah, was a little push shot but was close to where I aimed so. Was really good shot, yeah.
Q. It was.
INA YOON: Thank you.
Q. Lastly, a couple of shots on 17; you stuck it almost a hole-in-one. The greens were really firm. Did you have to adjust in terms of spin to be able to hold those greens or were those just stock shots for you?
INA YOON: That number was the perfect shot for my 9-iron, so I try to be just commit to the shot because I have perfect number here. If I hit good it'll go close to the pin.
Yeah, pretty much same shot as 16 second shot, so, just, yeah, let's have one more good shot with 9-iron. Just be same. And I did it.
Q. Good luck the rest of the season.
INA YOON: Thank you.
