JM EAGLE LA CHAMPIONSHIP

April 19, 2026

Haeran Ryu

Los Angeles, California, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, joining us after the final round of the JM Eagle LA Championship is Haeran Ryu. Nine birdies today. Talk about what was going well for you out there during this round?

HAERAN RYU: Well, I don't know I'm making nine birdies today. So, yeah, today I just keep focus for my swing, because after two week ago in Vegas my shot is so bad. Then I try to fix my swing with my Korean coach, so every day call him, every day take a video, and every ask him like, this is good?

So that's why today is pretty good my shot and my putt. I'm so happy I'm coming to the media center in the final round.

Q. Walter Wang announced yesterday that he increased the purse by $1 million. What was your reaction to that news?

HAERAN RYU: Feels like dream because after second -- yeah, after third round is prize money is going up and I'm -- I ask for my manager, is this a dream? So, yeah, kind of happy for me.

And then I can work hard in the final round.

Q. Heading into The Chevron Championship next week, our first major of the season, what do you feel like the state of your game is right now?

HAERAN RYU: Yeah, today's swing is pretty good but it's not perfect and not perfect comfortable for me, so I just keep fixing my swing and keep more work hard with my Korean coach.

Yeah, this year The Chevron Championship is change the golf course so I just want to be more safely and more learn from my golf.

Q. Six or seven shots back heading into today; what was the mindset? Just to go out and shoot a good score? Did you think you had any chance to move up and get in contention?

HAERAN RYU: Yeah, this course green is so steep and a lot of slope and pin position is very hard today, so it's hard to make some more specific shots for the pins. So I just want to more keep green and keep fairway, so that works for my good swing.

So I just want to more make some easy par. So always I ask my caddie for where is most easy to make a par position. So that's why I making a lot of birdie today, yeah.

Q. When you get on a run like you had on the back nine where you make four birdies in a row, what is your mindset? Are you almost expecting it start going in after a couple of those?

HAERAN RYU: Yeah, I think, yeah, after one bogey in the back nine I make some four birdies in a row.

Q. Yep.

HAERAN RYU: So I make some three putt at that hole but it's so hard read the green. It's so hard to read with the lie.

But my stroke is pretty good today, so I just trust my swing and trust my putter and just more work hard for the read the lie on the green.

Q. Does that give you some confidence going...

HAERAN RYU: Yeah, yeah.
