Quick Quotes
Q. Joining us after the third round of the JM Eagle LA Championship is Suvichaya Vinijchaitham. Another great round today. 5-under. Talk about what was going well for you out there.
SUVICHAYA VINIJCHAITHAM: I would say my putting was okay today, but what I did well is my approach shot. Yeah, I hit it pretty close to the pin. Like a lot of pins today, especially the par-5. I made an eagle because I hit it really, really close.
Q. Yeah, talk about that eagle that you made. Can you walk us through that hole tee to green?
SUVICHAYA VINIJCHAITHAM: Yeah, I hit a pretty good tee shot, like it went far. I had like 120 left and it was downwind. I talked to my caddie and he thinks I should hit just like another 50, easy swing. Yeah, just went close.
Q. Coming off something exciting like an eagle you went on to birdie the next hole. How do you find yourself managing exciting emotions out there?
SUVICHAYA VINIJCHAITHAM: I'm pretty sure my heart rate went up a lot. But, yeah, just trying to stay calm. I talk to my caddie a lot. He helps me feel like relax and not too excited on the course.
Q. You're up on the leaderboard with some notorious names, Sei Young and Hannah Green. How does it feel to be in the mix with these people that you definitely watched growing up?
SUVICHAYA VINIJCHAITHAM: I don't know. It's hard to explain. Just feel very proud of myself and, yeah, excited to play with world class tomorrow.
Q. And then Walter Wang announced on the broadcast earlier that they're raising the purse this week by $1 million, which makes it the largest purse outside of the majors and the CME Group Tour Championship. Can you talk a little bit about what that investment means to you?
SUVICHAYA VINIJCHAITHAM: Yeah, means a lot to us. Increase the prize money, that's awesome. Like thank you for investing in our tournament. This means a lot.
