Press Conference
Q. Great round today, 66, 5-under. Three of the four players on Legion XIII are in the first three positions. What makes Legion XIII so dangerous on this golf course?
TYRRELL HATTON: I don't know. I think we're obviously a very strong team across the four. So if we all play well, then generally, I think, we should have a good chance of -- give ourselves a good chance to win the tournament.
Obviously so far three of us have played good this week. I know Caleb won't be overly happy with how he's played, and I'm sure he'll play great tomorrow and finish strong. But as it stands, we're in a good position.
Q. You're going to play on hole No. 1 with your teammate Jon Rahm. What can you expect from the round?
TYRRELL HATTON: Well, obviously I'll be trying to make as many birdies as I can to overtake Jon, but that's going to be a difficult task. He's proved many times how to win golf tournaments. He's been incredibly consistent this season so far on LIV.
Yeah, it's going to be a tough day, but hopefully I can play well and see what happens.
Q. Tyrrell, can you take us back to yesterday, especially the six-birdie stretch, and obviously still playing hot today. Can you just go through that process and what was going on? What kind of turned things around?
TYRRELL HATTON: I mean, generally I feel like I've given myself a lot of opportunities for birdies. You see the run that I had to finish yesterday's round. I holed some nice putts in there that were kind of -- I would say with how the greens are, they're kind of a nice distance to putt from, that sort of 15-foot range, where I didn't really have too many inside six feet, which isn't so fun.
So yeah, I'd rather be putting from 15 feet tomorrow, and that gives me a better opportunity to actually hole some putts.
Q. As mentioned, you and Rahm are playing tomorrow. You guys have played a lot of golf together, partners, whatnot. Do you expect there might be a slightly different mood or environment, given that it's the business end of the tournament and trophies are on the line?
TYRRELL HATTON: No. I mean, everyone out here is extremely competitive. Yes, me and Jon get on very well off the golf course, but when we're on it, obviously we want to beat each other. Obviously I haven't beaten Jon too many times over the last three years, so yeah, it would be nice to get one over on him tomorrow.
Yeah, we'll both go out there and try our best, and we're both trying to win a golf tournament.
Q. You have four top-5 finishes on LIV the week after a major, including your win in Nashville. Do you think that's a coincidence or maybe something about preparing for majors that gets you in the mode to come and play well here?
TYRRELL HATTON: I don't know. I don't try any harder or I have no explanation as to why that might be the case. But yeah, I'll try and put a good round of golf together tomorrow and I guess keep that streak going. But yeah, I don't know why that would be.
Q. You were in contention here at the WGC five or six years ago and you were kind of dueling with Phil back then. Does anything from playing that week give you an advantage or something to lean on in the final round tomorrow?
TYRRELL HATTON: No. I mean, I guess I've proved in the past that I can play well around this golf course. It didn't work out for me on the 18th hole in that WGC event, which was disappointing, but hopefully the bubbles will be on my side tomorrow.
