JM EAGLE LA CHAMPIONSHIP

April 18, 2026

Patty Tavatanakit

Los Angeles, California, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Joining us after the third round of the JM Eagle LA Championship is Patty Tavatanakit. Patty, a great round today. 5-under. Talk about what was going well out there.

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, I definitely hit my irons a lot better than yesterday and that's what I felt like was lacking in terms of scoring yesterday.

So reset, regroup yesterday and just I went out there and just executed.

Q. Heading into the final round tomorrow what's the focus going to be on on the course?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: I don't know. (Laughter.)

I'm just -- like I feel like it's been a long time since I'm just like out there playing golf, so I'm just going to do that. I'm just going to give myself one task and I'm just going to go do it, yeah.

Q. Walter Wang announced on the broadcast a little bit ago that he's increasing the purse by $1 million this year which will be making it the largest non-major, non Tour Championship purse on Tour. Can you just talk a little bit about that exciting announcement and the support that Wangs give to this tournament?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: That's amazing. I feel like they're one of, if not the best, partner we have out here. To be able to receive the support from them and for them to be so excited to grow this game with us, it's just -- it means a lot.

But I feel like women's golf is growing so much and there is so many young girls that just picked up the sport and I feel like ultimately like that's a great thing.

So thank you JM Eagle for raising the purse and making it more meaningful for us out there.

Q. Talk about coming home to play. You haven't played a whole lot, so how much does that help to be here?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: I definitely miss LA a lot. Just being here, like especially I spend quite a bit of time up in to the valley before I went to school at UCLA, and I really miss it.

I went to dinner last night closer to like Cold Water Canyon and that's where I used to hang out a lot. I was like, oh, this place changed a lot, and I really miss it.

Q. In what ways? What do you miss the most?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Food. Community. Well, not really. I had like college friends who are everywhere now.

Food, places to go, like workout class, like pilates, berries, a whole bunch of things we can do outside of golf. It's definitely the weather for sure that's really tough to beat as well.

Q. Did you follow the lady Bruins basketball team and what they did? That was just phenomenal.

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, I've been following them for a little bit. I think they came close a couple years ago. I was bummed out. Really happy for them and congrats to them.

Q. Expectations tomorrow? Can you go out and just have fun and whatever happens, happens?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Pretty much, yeah. I'm just going to go out there and play golf.
