Q. I know it wasn't the way you wanted to end your round today, but still a fantastic round. With a lot of distraction and noise this week, how did you manage to keep your focus and perform the way you did today?

JON RAHM: Just not really generally wasting my time on things I can't control. So my mindset was to keep working on the week and operate as normal and keep working on the things that I feel like I needed to be working on and prepare for the tournament. That was it.

Q. You've had some great performances here at Chapultepec. What about this golf course suits your game or maybe even suits your eye?

JON RAHM: I don't know. With the altitude, it's similar to where I grew up, Club de Golf Larrabea. Have fun spelling that.

It's tree lined poa annua greens, slopes, uneven lies. It's a golf course in which straight shots, straight putts are not really a thing. It's similar to where I grew up. I'm familiar with poa annua greens. They're very frustrating for everybody. You're going to hit good putts and get unlucky.

I feel like it's to my advantage because it puts a premium on ball striking. I'm comfortable on those greens. Comfortable enough at least.

Q. Speaking of where you grew up, I know your dad is out here walking with you. How special is it to have him walk alongside you, especially for the next few weeks coming up, and perform the way you did today?

JON RAHM: He was there last week too, so a little bit less special. I'm going to have them with me -- they're going to be with me through the PGA. I haven't seen them for quite a longer time than I'd like. My mom and dad are both here watching me play. Hopefully I can keep putting in good performances for them.

Since I joined LIV, they haven't had the joy to be there for a win. Hopefully I can get one while they're here with me. Obviously if I had to choose, the one coming up in four weeks is the one I would choose to get.
