Quick Quotes
Q. Talk about your round today and how you feel you finished up.
JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Pretty frustrating. I felt like I played a lot better than I scored. There were certain areas of the course that I didn't really expect to play the way they did, to put it in the most, I guess, easiest way to put it.
But yeah, I don't know, I felt like I played a lot better than I scored. But I hit some shots that I thought were good and ended up very poorly. Yeah, we'll see how it plays again next year. I'll get one year under my belt and see if I can learn anything from it.
Q. What do you think overall takeaways as far as your play the entire week, making the cut, the great round yesterday, and left a few out there today, but your takeaways from the week?
JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Yeah, no, I played well. I had always thought the tee shots were a little bit more intimidating than I guess they were this week. When I got in competition I think focus kind of heightened a little bit and was able to hit the tight tee shots pretty consistently good.
I was proud of myself for that. I really struggled on the greens with speeds and kind of noticing how putts break when there's not much grass where they've baked it out and then how putts break a lot where there is grass where they've watered it, the way it plays sticky versus fast, and I didn't quite figure that out today specifically.
I think the more practice I get putting on the greens, I'll get better at it and that's kind of my strength so when I get the putter going I can make some good scores.
Q. How about emotionally or confidence-wise, coming here and performing the way you did, especially with all the fan support, all the Go, Tigers and then rolling into hopefully future appearance back here.
JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Yeah, I mean, first year I didn't really know what exactly to expect. I kind of thought I understood how the course was playing and clearly didn't today. I was completely confused on pretty much the whole round.
Yeah, I think the more times I play it, I think I'll get a lot better at it, and looking forward to playing consistent golf the way I have, the way I'm hitting the ball off the tee. I think next week will suit me well.
Q. What's going to be the thing you remember most from your first Masters?
JACOB BRIDGEMAN: I think Wednesday was still the highlight. It was the coolest thing. I'd played the Par-3 course, but in that atmosphere it was really special. I had so good buddies, and then I played pretty much exactly how I wanted to yesterday, minus I didn't really make any putts. With you I think my ball-striking was exactly how I wanted it, and that's probably my biggest takeaway.
Q. What's the biggest thing you learned about yourself throughout this process, if anything at all?
JACOB BRIDGEMAN: That it's not -- I can't figure it out in one year. I definitely asked a lot of questions and tried to understand the most I could.
But when you get weather like this where we get no rain for a week prior to the event and then nothing the week of, it can play a lot different than anything anybody could expect.
So, yeah, I think I learned that it humbled me a little bit, that I can't really figure it out in one year, but that's not the goal. The goal it to play it for many years and have a lot of success over a 10-year span. I think I can figure it out in the future, but I definitely didn't in one year.
Q. Looking ahead to next week, you're familiar with Harbour Town?
JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Yeah. I heard they made some changes, regrassed, maybe changed a little bit of the greens. I don't know if anything else was done. But always been one of my favorites. I played junior golf there and always played the tournament, so looking forward to getting back down there.
Q. Did you win the Junior Heritage one year?
JACOB BRIDGEMAN: I did not. One year we played 12 holes, it was rained out, and then another year I was pretty young. I didn't play it my senior year. But it's a fun event.
Q. With the overall support from Tiger Nation, with the Palmetto State being two hours away from here, just your dream becoming a reality this week?
JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Yeah, had a lot of support the whole week. We used all of our tickets about every day and had a bunch of friends cycle in throughout the week which was cool. A lot of faces that I didn't give tickets to were still here out supporting me and watching me throughout the whole round, which is really cool.
Got a lot of friends, a lot of family that support me, and I'm glad they came down here and supported me. That means a lot.
