MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 12, 2026

Corey Conners

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. How would you sum up your week overall?

COREY CONNERS: Yeah, a frustrating week. I feel like my game is close to being where I want. Just wasn't able to put the scores together. The course is playing a little bit tricky and just wasn't able to do what I wanted to do out there.

Q. Is it one of these weeks where this golf course is so on the edge that even if you're just a little bit off with something, it could go the wrong way?

COREY CONNERS: Yeah, definitely. It's a game of inches, for sure. Certainly out here you have to be really precise. You know that danger is looming, and if you want to pick some spots to be aggressive, you have to take on some of the trouble. There's definitely a fine line.

Was certainly on the wrong line of that, just a little bit off with some shots, all throughout the week.

Q. When you say "tricky," where is this course the most tricky?

COREY CONNERS: I think there's a lot of really demanding golf shots. I think certainly into the greens. Off the tee, I've always felt pretty comfortable here. Had a few mistakes throughout the week, but the iron shots into the greens I think can be described as tricky. There's opportunities to get the ball close to some of the hole locations, but if you're just on the wrong side a little bit, it really gets repelled away from where you want it.

Some of the penalty areas on the back nine are looming. Just a step or two off in a certain direction and you can pay the price. Pretty much into the greens, and then the greens were rolling really, really nice. They've continued to speed up and firm up. That will continue this afternoon.

It's always a challenge on the greens, as well.

Q. Green speeds, is it more than a 14 --

COREY CONNERS: I don't know, it's hard to -- the greens are rolling great. There's certainly some downhill putts that you're just trying to breathe on. But the speed is really nice.

Q. What did you see on the shot from the fairway at 14?

COREY CONNERS: I loved it in the air. I saw it land on the green. At that point in the round I was a little bit frustrated so I was kind of thinking in my head, what could go wrong with this shot (laughter), even though it was right at the flag.

Reaction from the patrons all surrounding the green, lots of hands in the air, so pretty good idea that it went in, and put a smile on my face for a frustrating day.

Q. What club did you hit?

COREY CONNERS: An 8-iron, a little choked up three quarter 8-iron. Was kind of between clubs and I chose the right one.

Q. Another set of crystal, I guess?

COREY CONNERS: Yeah. I've been able to collect a lot of crystal from my experience at the Masters here at Augusta National, displayed proudly in our dining room. A little bit to add from this year.

Q. Are you using any of them?

COREY CONNERS: At the odd time, yeah. Not afraid to, but they're pretty special pieces, and it's really cool that Augusta National does that for us here at the Masters tournament.

Q. (Indiscernible).

COREY CONNERS: I wasn't too concerned about my tee shot. I was I thought I was I guess it clipped a tree and they had some footage that I didn't get to see, but I thought it may have fallen down, looked around for it, and just after the three-minute mark when I decided I need to go back to the tee and carry on, the ball was found.

It wasn't too close to where we were looking. I think it's certainly on me to make sure I'm looking in the right spot. But yeah, it's never fun to have to go back to the tee.

Q. You made a ton of birdies; that's got to be a --

COREY CONNERS: Definitely, six birdies yesterday, a couple today, an eagle. Yeah, some good stuff was there. Just a little bit sloppy and things didn't always go my way. I don't know, lots of bright spots. I think the game is in a decent place, just the results are not what I was after.

Q. Going back to the crystal (regarding guests knowing where the crystal comes from)?

COREY CONNERS: I think a lot of our friends in our circle are aware of that, yeah.

Q. I guess you're not watching every single final round out here. With the leaderboard that we have now, are you going to watch today?

COREY CONNERS: Yeah, hopefully if my kids allow it. I'm hoping not to miss it, but we'll see how it goes.

Q. As you look forward to next week, how do you feel going down to Carolina?

COREY CONNERS: Yeah, I'll do some reflecting here. A little soon to -- I feel frustrated at the moment, but I do feel like thinking about where my game is at, it's not too far off. Optimistic, another place that I love. Yeah, we'll see what we can do.
