Q. Well done today. How are you feeling halfway stage?

SHANE LOWRY: Good, yeah, yeah. Nice. Look, I'm in a nice position. I played well today. I felt like I did a lot of good things, and my attitude was great. So I'm very, very happy. If you give me this position yesterday morning, I would have taken your hand off. To be kind of in the mix going into the weekend around here is nice, so I'm looking forward to it.

Q. Well played, especially with the finish today.

SHANE LOWRY: I obviously had to stay patient, and I holed a couple of nice par putts kind of on 11 and 14. Then, yeah, just kept trying to give myself chances and hit some great shots on the way in. I'm very happy.

Q. Just how difficult is the course playing?

SHANE LOWRY: We're very lucky it's not windy. The wind is kind of light and switching a lot, and it is hard to gauge it. You need to be so precise out there that, you know, whether it's flicking two or three yards downwind or into the wind makes a lot of difference.

So it's tricky, but you know, as we've seen, there is some good scores out there, but there's also some mistakes out there if you get on the wrong side of some of those pin positions.

Q. No bogeys.

SHANE LOWRY: Yeah, yeah, I felt good. I felt calm. I felt good. I felt like I was hitting the ball in the right spots. You know, I was very happy to convert two of those last three. I mean, great chance on seven and probably should have holed that as well, but let's not get greedy.

Q. How do you assess where you are going into the weekend?

SHANE LOWRY: Great. As I said, I'm happy. Obviously it's a long way to go, but yeah, I have a late tee time on Saturday afternoon is always a nice place to be in.

Q. There's five of you from Bethpage probably in the top 10 going into tomorrow. Is that just a coincidence, or do you think you did take --

SHANE LOWRY: No, I think it's a coincidence. Yeah, I'm just looking. There's two Americans. No, I think that's a coincidence. Obviously all great players.

So you look at the leaderboard. There's a lot of great European golfers on that leaderboard and a couple of good American ones as well. So, no, it's a great leaderboard. Yeah, should be an exciting weekend.
