April 10, 2026

Cameron Young

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Cam, great day.

CAMERON YOUNG: Thank you.

Q. What's the difference between your first seven holes and the last 29?

CAMERON YOUNG: Not that much, frankly. I mean, I just kind of got a few winds wrong and didn't make much. I mean, this place is difficult if you get out of position, especially around the greens.

In terms of quality of golf, they're not very different. I mean, I hit some great shots that came down the wrong number and made bogeys. The last however many holes, 27 or so, I feel like I've done a better job of that. I still haven't made much, but feel like I've put myself in position the majority of both rounds.

Q. Did you guys map out any kind of a different game plan for today as opposed to yesterday?

CAMERON YOUNG: Nope, not at all. Same one, yeah.

Q. So it was just a matter of being in the right spots?

CAMERON YOUNG: Yeah. I mean, that's what it comes down to out here. There's somewhere on every hole that you can't be, and it's a matter of giving yourself some opportunities while also avoiding those places. So it's difficult, but I mean, the wind was pretty light today. I feel like I played from the fairway really all day, so I was able to give myself some good chances.

Q. Do you like being on a hot streak the same time you're playing with somebody that's on a hot streak? Do you like that energy and do you feed off of that?

CAMERON YOUNG: Yeah, it's nice to watch good golf. It never hurts. Yeah, I feel like obviously Rory played great, made the most of pretty much everything he could out there I feel like, and that's what it takes to be beating the field by six or whatever it is.

Q. The golf course play meaningful different than yesterday, Cam?

CAMERON YOUNG: A little bit. Just from a wind side of things. It wasn't as windy, which made some of the shots a little bit less, you know, of a question mark. We were able to nail down some numbers and kind of know where things were going to come down, especially with the wedges. Out here if it's blowing, I mean, some of the wedge shots can be pretty sketchy. So just able to hit a couple of those a little closer where.

Q. Is the 15th green the toughest one on the course with how firm it is, or are others getting as firm as that one?

CAMERON YOUNG: Yeah, I mean, it felt firm underfoot. I don't think my ball ever really touched the green on a fly on that hole. I hit the green and had to hit a bump and run from the back. I can't really speak to its firmness.

Yeah, they're pretty firm all around. You're starting to see some brown spots, and it's definitely starting to get that way.

Q. Did you have to play that chip on 15 cautious because --

CAMERON YOUNG: The water on the other side? Yeah, yeah, that water can be in play very quickly, and I didn't have -- I had a pretty firm lie. It was not a ton of grass under it, so I felt better trying to leave it 20 feet short.

Q. Was there a putt that would have made you happy on that other than going in?

CAMERON YOUNG: 16, 17 -- oh, on that one?

Q. Yeah, on 15.

CAMERON YOUNG: Yeah, I was thrilled for that one to go in. It wasn't one that I was worried about three-putting really, but at the same time, it's a difficult putt to make, because you have to play -- I mean, I probably played nine feet over break or 12. I don't know. Yeah, I'm happy to see one go in.

Q. How aggressive can you be tomorrow?

CAMERON YOUNG: I probably won't change much. I think it's so dependent on where you are, what the wind is doing. I think there are certain winds where you can use slopes more easily and they kind of have some bumpers out there, and there's winds where you don't have any.

So I think it just is so much dependent hole to hole, what number you get if I can hit something hard and up in the air or if I can't.

So, I mean, it might end up looking like I am or I'm not when in reality I'm kind of just trying to make the same decisions that I would have today from those places.
