MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 10, 2026

Jacob Bridgeman

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Jacob, your around for the weekend. Coming in with various different expectations but probably the minimum level. Wanted to be here Saturday and Sunday. Just that feeling that you have accomplished that goal.

JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Yeah, that's the goal I think any week, but especially a major week. Try and make the weekend and give yourself a chance to have a good finish.

Yeah, I'm excited. Hopefully I can play a little bit better on the weekend than I did today. Yeah, glad to be around for two more days.

Q. What was your mindset today after the kind of getting the feel of it yesterday? Were you trying to get a little lower today and just couple of the bogeys kept you from doing that? Was there a different mindset?

JACOB BRIDGEMAN: No, same mindset. I knew the greens would be a little bit softer this morning which they were. I just didn't hit my drivers good today as yesterday. Yesterday was in good position on every hole. Today I had a lot of unfortunate hops behind some trees.

Those get pretty difficult out here. Yeah, just wasn't in position today.

Q. What was as expected or what was surprising about the first two days out here?

JACOB BRIDGEMAN: I guess first day I knew it would be firm but Thursday afternoon I didn't expect it to be as firm and fast as it was. But they watered it yet clearly and this morning it was quite a bit softer.

I think they're managing it well.

Q. What do you think to yourself now, the self-talk to turn over to the weekend and moving day?

JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Yeah, I'm just going to work on the driver a little bit. Other than that, I feel fine. Feel like I'm still learning about the course as I go along and trying to figure out how it putt the greens.

A lot of them are deceiving, speeds are deceiving. I think I'm learning as I go, and hopefully I can use a little bit of that on the weekend.

Q. How much do you feel like you're able to take in on a course like this? Now that you've played it twice, how much are you internalizing about the different areas of the course?

JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Yeah, I've learned quite a bit more I would say in the first two rounds than I did in the practice rounds just because tournament conditions plays a lot harder.

The greens are a lot harder, faster firmer, so everything is more exposed. Yeah, I've learned quite a bit on where to miss the ball. Where I missed it on 14 was a terrible spot.

Yeah, I'm learning as I can. First year, first couple rounds in, I'm going to get in a couple spots where I was unaware or bad. Yeah, I think I'll be a little bit more experienced.

Q. Bogey on one. Followed up with a birdie on two. Double bogey, followed with a birdie. What does that say about your game, that coming off the unfortunate situations to come right back and get one of the shots back from 14 on 15?

JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Yeah, just that I bogeyed the holes before the par-5s, I don't know. They seem to be the easiest holes out here. Only ones you got a really good chance at birdies. Just unfortunate bogey on one. Hit a great drive, great second shot, whatever, just kind of spun of the front.

Wasn't really expecting that.

Yeah, 14 I just felt like I hit an okay drive that should have been in the right rough and was back in the trees. That's just how it is sometimes. You get some bad breaks. Especially when I don't really know the slopes and everything I can hit some shots that go places I don't expect.

Q. What about the third shot on two? Really nice shot.

JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Yeah.

Q. Hard to get.

JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Yeah, I've watched this tournament after year and it seems like everybody hits it down there to the right and has a pretty easy little 40-yard pitch up the green. When I was over on the left and we have a look at the green that I was kind of the mindset, just hit it down to the right and get a good angle, able to pitch it up the up slope.

Q. We've seen some people walking around with Clemson gear on and Clemson bags. Did you have anybody that made the trip down to come watch you compete this weekend?

JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Yeah, I used all may tickets about every day. We've had quite a bit of support come down, family and friends and a bunch of my Clemson people. Yeah, there has been a lot of fans from Clemson out here in the crowds. Yeah, it's been cool. A lot of, Go Tigers this week and a couple of my teammates came down, too, so it's cool.

Q. Talked about conservative yesterday. Is that playing through the weekend. Conservative or more aggressive?

JACOB BRIDGEMAN: This course is going to get even faster. I feel like they probably controlled it a little bit for the first couple days to make it manageable, and maybe will push us a little bit on the weekend.

Yeah, going to get really challenging. Some of the pins were tricky today where you couldn't really go for them at all with the wind direction. So when the wind is swirling up there -- I think maybe tomorrow the wind will be down a little bit. Sunday supposed to blow a touch. It's going to be very challenging, yeah.

Q. Can you still win this tournament? You think you're probably more looking top 10 being top 15?

JACOB BRIDGEMAN: Yeah, always thinking I can win. I'm quite a bit back. It would take something really special. The way the course is looking, I don't know. The harder the better for my chances. Just because the guys are maybe not running away with it. Yeah, we'll see. We'll see how the lead looks at the end of the day and at the end of the day tomorrow.
