Quick Quotes
Q. (Off microphone).
MIKE WEIR: I holed my putts inside of five feet. That was the difference. My short game was just horrible yesterday, and you can't do that around here. Especially with my length, I have to have a good short game. It wasn't there, but today was a little better.
Q. You're always working on something. What's the focus been this year on the game?
MIKE WEIR: I mean, probably short game. Yeah, I think that's what I've been focused on the most. Yeah, I love to work on my game and work on it, but yeah, that's the part that has to sharpen up. You know, even on the Champions Tour, when I play out there, that's what's holding me back a little bit.
Q. It's a great week for you every time you're back here. Earlier in the week in the practice round with the Canadians Gary Woodland joined the group. I saw the two of you having some good chats. What was that discussion like?
MIKE WEIR: Gary is a good friend. We played a lot of golf in Hawaii this year. Brennan, who caddied for me for a dozen years or so, caddies for Gary now. So we're all good friends. Happy to see him doing well and healthy and playing great. You know, pulling for him always.
Q. Champions Dinner, must be a fun night every year.
MIKE WEIR: Always, yes.
Q. Any great stories from this year in particular? What did you enjoy most?
MIKE WEIR: Just Rory was just classy. He was great in front of the guys when he got up and spoke. Jack had some great things to say. So did Gary. They're the only three Grand Slam champions in that room, and so it's great to hear from all those guys. The dinner was great. The wine was great. It was a special evening.
Q. Was it the best wine list in your Champions Dinners?
MIKE WEIR: Yeah, I think so. Well, yeah, decent. No, it was awesome. Yeah, really good.
Q. The rest of the weekend, it's a place I know you also have to do a lot of work on the range, but it's also a place you could easily soak in the surroundings, and sort of what's the rest of this week going to look like for you?
MIKE WEIR: I have another major next week. Our Senior PGA is next week. Yeah, I'll sharpen up my game a little bit and keep working on my short game here the next couple of days and fly over to Florida Monday and enjoy my family here and enjoy the great weather and enjoy family and friends.
