Quick Quotes
Q. Talk to me about the round. What did you find?
CHARL SCHWARTZEL: Yeah, course is tough. It's firm. There was a few tough pin placements. Didn't really feel like I played that badly. You know, didn't make enough key 12-footers. I had a few opportunities on 12-footers and missed.
And then followed up with bogey on 17, so it was easily -- easier level round that I could have played, but I don't think it's that easy out there.
Q. Do you like teeing off so early?
CHARL SCHWARTZEL: No. (Smiling.) No. I struggled. You know, I have always struggled in cold weather and this morning was (indiscernible.) I only started feeling like I can swing the club properly from about the sixth hole and could start moving better.
I managed to keep it together through that stretch. Didn't play badly at all. But yeah, just a couple soft bogeys. On this course you don't really want to make those soft bogeys. You're going to make enough bogeys as it is. You don't need to give the course too many.
Maybe gave the course two shots that I didn't need to.
Q. How disappointed are you about not picking up a shot on the par-5s?
CHARL SCHWARTZEL: Yeah, you know, again, it was putting. I had a 7-footer on the second. The longest one was 8, about 15 foot. 10-foot on 13 and probably another 12-footer on 15. That's what I'm saying, I just didn't make enough putts. You need to make putts around here.
Q. How do you regroup now for tomorrow?
CHARL SCHWARTZEL: You know, bit a physio and maybe a light gym session. There is not much I can work on. Game is good. Just need to make a few more key putts and that's what will get the round going.
Q. Tee off later.
CHARL SCHWARTZEL: Yeah, tomorrow is a bit later. Should be much better.
