Quick Quotes
Q. Fast, firm golf course looks to be this week. Are you changing any setup in your bag?
RUSSELL HENLEY: No setup in my bag, no. If I have to hit some cut shots or higher shots, I will, but not going to change anything.
Q. Obviously with your connection to this state I'm assuming this tournament is very emotional to you. How would you describe those emotions?
RUSSELL HENLEY: Yeah. I grew up coming to this tournament as a junior golfer. Some close friends of mine would bring me and we would watch the Par-3 or go hang out on a hole in the course.
Just have a lot of memories watching the tournament, so to be a participant playing is a dream come true.
Q. Do you get excited on the eve of the Masters like today?
RUSSELL HENLEY: Yeah, I am excited. I mean, this is kind of like -- almost like a pause where we just get to really enjoy hanging out. I don't feel like I do a ton of hard work on a day like today, which is different than other majors.
So it's definitely special and just spend the day with family, and this always makes it really fun.
Q. Is this maybe the most emotional tournament you play throughout the year given all your history and everything?
RUSSELL HENLEY: I think so. It's very close to home. I grew up just over two hours away.
Q. Finally, how prepared do you think you are heading into this Masters?
RUSSELL HENLEY: Yeah. I feel better than I did last year. I mean last year I took three weeks off before. I was just overthinking my game. And I feel like I'm in a good place. I haven't had the exact results I want this year, but been playing pretty steady, and I feel like I'm in a good place mentally. So it's all good.
