Quick Quotes
Q. Just real quick, just kind of an outside of the box question I guess a little bit.
MIN WOO LEE: Yep.
Q. If it you were a Masters patron and you had one day here, what are you doing? What time are you getting here? What does the rest of the day look like?
MIN WOO LEE: Probably have to do to the merch tent first. I'm sure there is a shipping situation there so you spend at least one to two thousand dollars I would say. I think that's pretty average.
You ship it and then probably go down to 16. You can kind of see the tee shots off 16, people skip it. If it's a practice round. And then you watch the tee shots on 6. You can kind of watch 15 as well.
So I think that trio of holes is a pretty good area. If I had to sit somewhere. But I would probably want to see the leaders or my favorite golfer.
But, yeah, definitely get the merch first. (Smiling.) That's probably a priority. And then yeah, just enjoy it. I mean, it's one of the best places on earth.
Q. What are you eating?
MIN WOO LEE: I'm eating probably -- I know the chicken salad, that's pretty good. You got try everything really. If you're only here for a day probably going to try it all.
Peach ice cream, barbecue sandwich. I would go with the chicken salad first and go from there.
Q. You've been here a couple times now. Talk to me about Amen Corner. What do people who haven't been here or haven't played the course? What don't they get on television about how those holes are set up and how difficult they are?
MIN WOO LEE: I think you learn that it's pretty quiet just around that area. You know, every hole has patrons on the left and right. Then when you get to Amen Corner hole 11 doesn't have anyone on the left so if you're over there is no one there clapping or talking.
Then same as 12 when you're out there it's literally a green by itself and all the patrons are behind on the tee box. It's not normal that there is patrons 200 yards away, or 100 let's call it 150 yards to the 13 tee box as well.
There is a quiet area there that no one is there and that's what I learnt when I first came out here, like how nearly deafening because it was just no one. Is it's a delayed response when you hole a putt on 12.
But it's hard. I can add on to that it's very hard. This week it might be downwind which will play a lot easier I would say. Not a lot, but it definitely helps not hitting a 5-iron into 11. In the practice round I hit a pitching wedge.
So it's a bit of a different club coming in. I think I really like this wind. The northeast wind is nicer I think for me. I prefer it.
Q. Have you ever played Augusta National this firm and fast?
MIN WOO LEE: Yes. I don't think it's that firm right now. I think it's somewhat soft. But it's going to get to the firmness that the committee would want it to. But it's leading up to it which is great.
It's not -- it was a little slower yesterday, bit faster today, and going to be fast tournament time.
Q. If it gets real fiery how does that affect 11, 12, 13?
MIN WOO LEE: I mean, 12 is probably -- it's in the shade a little bit so it's going to be a little wet. I spun it back downwind yesterday, so it'll be fine then.
I mean, it's not going to play too different. It's a long green up 11, so if you play up the middle of the green you're still not going to be too far away. It's going to be pretty tough to land it and then bounce it over into the bunker.
So you probably hit the wrong club if that's the case. Yeah, I don't think it's that firm right now.
