Quick Quotes
Q. Mateo, first of all, last night, amateur dinner. Did that live up to all the expectations that you had for it?
MATEO PULCINI: Yeah. It did. It went over the expectations. We had a guest speaker, that was very special, Fred Ridley. So it was great. He had some advice for us that were awesome, for golf course perspective and life perspective, too. So enjoying, and, yeah, it was a pleasure to listen to him.
Q. When you get the full weight of what this means and it's more than just a golf tournament and you see how many people care about the amateur experience here, how welcoming and warm is that for you as you kind of get closer and closer to that first round?
MATEO PULCINI: Yeah. Yesterday we were saying with Fifa, the hospitality here is unbelievable. I told reporters yesterday we feel like we're Top 5 in the world, like professionally how they treat us. It's unbelievable. Everyone knows you.
Logically, we are kind of like the worst players in the field, but we feel like we are the -- at least for me, I feel like I'm on the top from them in how they treat me. So it's really nice.
Q. Practice round today with テ]gel Cabrera. Had to have been a dream morning for you. How did that get set up?
MATEO PULCINI: My coach, Horacio Carbonetti, he's really close to テ]gel and テ]gel's son. We've been asking テ]gel's son, and of course, テ]gel, about the staff and how to manage here and where to stay, and they've been helping a lot, like advising us.
And then I told Horacio can you ask him to play with him. He said, of course. We set up for today in the morning.
Q. I mean, you could have so many questions about every single hole, every single shot, but maybe what's the one thing that you kind of took away from his approach, how he manages himself here at Augusta National, one thing that's really left an impact on you?
MATEO PULCINI: I could see that he's an aggressive player, but he always wants to be in play. Like he's going to attack. Like he literally said, you make sure you putt for par or you have a good chance to make par, even if you go for it or not, just to put it in play and be smart and try to hit it in the right spot and you're going to do fine.
Q. Par-3 contest tomorrow. Who do you have on the bag? Do you have any plans for the par-3?
MATEO PULCINI: I haven't signed up yet. I need to sign up. But I do have Martina Gavier. She was my coach for eight, nine years, and then she started working University of Arkansas, because I was with her.
And then I came back to Argentina, so I started with Horacio. She's one of the main reasons I'm here. So that's great.
