Quick Quotes
Q. So far what's it like being back here at Augusta National?
BRIAN CAMPBELL: Just special. I mean, luckily I got here Saturday, so I was here before the crowds, got to watch a little of the Women's Amateur, practice next to the kids playing the Chip and Putt, which was really fun.
I actually did that back in the day, so it was cool to see -- it was before they brought it here, but it was just fun. Just such a special place, so I'm just honored to be back.
Q. This is your second time around. Is there something that you learned the first time that you think will serve as an advantage this time?
BRIAN CAMPBELL: Yeah, I learned that I can play the course. I think I just stick to what I'm good at, trust my short game and my putting, and keep it in play. Hopefully I gained I least five yards off the tee, so hopefully a slight advantage from last year. Other than that, just kind of trust what we've got.
Q. Have you been happy with your play so far this year? Two made cuts this year.
BRIAN CAMPBELL: No, had some glimpses of good stuff. Been really honestly working a lot on swing stuff, mechanics, getting stronger, and so when that happens, now I'm bringing in long as opposed to being short.
Almost every green long is horrible, so you never want to do that. But yeah, just been working on a lot of stuff.
Q. Where would you say you are right now on your swing?
BRIAN CAMPBELL: 70, 80 percent there. Feeling really good, and I've played well at times, so I know at any chance we could play some good golf.
Q. Is it one of those things where when it's clicking it's clicking, but when it's not clicking, it's off?
BRIAN CAMPBELL: Even when it's not clicking, I've played well, and when it's been clicking I've played bad. It's not always, like, when you're on, you're on. I think sometimes it's just some parts of your game fall in place at different times than others.
Q. Did you record an eagle last year?
BRIAN CAMPBELL: Here?
Q. Yeah, during the tournament, at the Masters.
BRIAN CAMPBELL: No, I don't think I made eagle last year.
Q. Is one of the goals get an eagle so you can get the crystal glasses?
BRIAN CAMPBELL: I would take no bogeys over an eagle for sure. But an eagle would be great, yeah, I'll take that.
Q. The practice putting greens here are so flat, but when you get out on the course they're like ocean waves. How do you adjust to that?
BRIAN CAMPBELL: Find the hardest breaking putts you can -- even out here, I'm trying to find the most break possible and work on those, but then playing the course helps.
I think just getting used to how much break you have to play sometimes can be really different.
Q. Do you have to do anything different on the course preparing for greens of this severity?
BRIAN CAMPBELL: A little extra time. I think, yeah, I did a ton of loose lag putting out there today, understanding where the ball is going to end up. It's not always where you want it to go or where it could end up, because it could end up in some random places with these greens.
