TV Quick Quotes
Q. Nelly, I'm sure disappointed to not get the victory today, over the last few weeks as well, and you've been in contention. You were a couple back to start the day today. What were you telling yourself you needed to do in this final round?
NELLY KORDA: Honestly just to stay patient, take my chances when I could. I just didn't play good golf today. I was hitting it pretty poorly off the tee and just finding myself in really tough positions going into the greens, and then hitting it in places where I shouldn't be around the greens.
It was quite hard to make an up and down. I mean, I just made a birdie, my only birdie, on 18. It's quite tough. This golf course is brutal, especially if you're on the wrong side of the green.
Q. You got a couple weeks off now.
NELLY KORDA: Yeah.
Q. What do you need to do to win at Chevron?
NELLY KORDA: I mean, I'm just going to stick to what I'm doing. You know, I'm really happy with the way that my game is trending, and sometimes when you work too hard and you exhaust yourself you can go the other way.
So I'm just going to continue doing what I'm doing, and hopefully that leads me to a victory.
Q. Kathy Whitworth had 88 wins on the LPGA; she finished second 95 times I believe. You know, you're right there close to victory. How much was this a challenge this week, this golf course, watching the best players take on Shadow Creek?
NELLY KORDA: Yeah, it was tough. It was a challenge in every aspect of your game. But sports are funny. If you actually really think about it you lose more than you win, so you have to always pick yourself back up and dust yourself off and continue to grind and practice and work hard.
The only thing that I can control is that at the end of the day, and that's what I'm going to continue doing.
Q. Was this a good preparation for a major playing this golf course?
NELLY KORDA: Yeah, definitely. Props to Lauren. She played some unbelievable golf. It was really fun to see today and it was fun to play alongside her.
