Quick Quotes
Q. This is your first appearance at this event. Can you talk us through some of the emotions that you've been feeling this week and what it means to be up there near the top of the leaderboard in your first start here?
RAEGAN DENTON: I think there's so many different emotions. Just excitement, happiness just to be here, for one. Definitely some nerves for sure playing here today, and just overall really proud of myself. Today I could have definitely gone lower, but still, to shoot 3-under at Augusta, not a lot of people can say that, so I'm just really proud of that.
Q. Standing on the first tee, obviously huge crowds out here. Can you talk about the feelings and your first impressions of playing a competitive round here?
RAEGAN DENTON: It's just so surreal. Even though I was told how big the crowds were, I don't think I quite was able to picture it or expect it. I've played in a couple pro tournaments at home and the crowd didn't even get close to this, so I was just shaking so much. But I was just so honored to be able to get to have the experience.
Q. You mentioned previously that you played during that last LET stretch in Australia at the beginning of the year. How do you feel like playing in a pro event against some of the best golfers in the world prepared you to come out here and play against some of the best ams in the world?
RAEGAN DENTON: I think in a certain sense, sort of that stretch humbled me a little bit. It is a different ballgame playing in pro events, but at the same time I definitely proved that maybe not quite now, but I'm definitely able to compete at my best.
I think looking down the future, it just gives me a lot of confidence in playing events like these, knowing that I am able to step up to the occasion.
Q. There's a lot of Australian representation in the women's game. Hannah Green is on an unbelievable run right now, major winners like Minjee. What does it mean to you to follow in their footsteps and represent Australia on a stage like this?
RAEGAN DENTON: I think it's almost hard to put into words. Those are big names that I've looked up to since I was little, and to think that maybe one day little girls could look up to a name like mine on a leaderboard is just so special. I don't think I'll ever be able to get used to the feeling.
