ARAMCO CHAMPIONSHIP

April 4, 2026

Lauren Coughlin

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Shadow Creek

Quick Quotes

Q. Joined by Lauren Coughlin after her third round at the Aramco Championship. Tough one out there today. Still on top though. Just take us through it.

LAUREN COUGHLIN: Yeah, as you've probably seen, this golf course is really, really hard, especially if you get in the wrong spot.

I felt like I did a pretty good job today of at least getting in spots, and if did get a little out, making sure I walked away with no worse than bogey.

Could have had a few putts drop, but I really wish that shot on 16 would've kind of not gotten caught up on the collar there. Other than that played really good. It's going to be really hard tomorrow, so just going to see how goes.

Q. How do you mentally, obviously knowing what Shadow Creek is, kind of shake off like -- know that bogeys and pars are going to be okay?

LAUREN COUGHLIN: Yeah, it's just, again, just staying as patient as possible and taking what it gives. Again, just trying to guess as best you can on some of the bounces and hope the wind catches it when you're trying to get it.

Yeah, just going to keep trying to stay as patient as I possibly can tomorrow and whatever happens, happens.

Q. Obviously you had success here last year, too. Does that give you a lot of confidence that you can handle this course maybe compared to some other players?

LAUREN COUGHLIN: I think it's more I've just played it so many times. I've played it now, this is my fourth year playing this golf course. Like I said I think in the past I've been in some places you really, really don't want to be.

So just doing everything I can to stay away from those spots and give myself as many opportunities on the holes -- because there are a few holes that you can make birdies, like the par-5s, 11, 12, so like trying to take advantage when you can and just holding on for dear life on the other holes.

Q. The par save on 15, how important do you feel like that was at that time? Also with that, the birdie on 18 and just maybe did that putt eventually lead to something for 18 and being able to get there?

LAUREN COUGHLIN: Yeah, I definitely think it was huge in kind of just keeping -- getting any kind of momentum going into the last few holes because it was so start-stop in the middle of that back nine.

It was nice to after I hit a really good approach shot. Kind of -- I can't hit any other club than what I hit so atmosphere unfortunate that ended up back where it was.

But hit a good chip there, and yeah, it was huge to make that putt. I kind of did the similar thing yesterday and didn't make the putt. Hit a pretty good chip shot and didn't -- I saw where Nelly was on 18 green and I just kind of told myself, I've made these putts before so I'm going to make this one, too.

Q. Only missed 13 greens in regulation. How much of an emphasis have you been putting on that this week and how much has that helped to contribute to where you are position-wise?

LAUREN COUGHLIN: I think hitting the greens is like huge out here, because just how the fringe-rough I guess you can say, intermediate, whatever it is. You don't really want to chip out of that because it can be really difficult to judge how it's going to come out.

I feel like my lag putting has been really good all week. Even though I may not be in the right spot per se on the green, I may have a really long putt, I've been able to two-putt them solidly all week.

Hitting the green I think has been huge.

Q. Playing with Nelly tomorrow. Both have had good success at this course. How much fun are you going to have tomorrow?

LAUREN COUGHLIN: Yeah, Nelly has become a friend this year, like towards the end of last year too. We go get coffee a good bit. It's going to be fun. My caddie and her caddie are really, really close, too so it's going to be a lot of fun tomorrow.
