Quick Quotes
Q. Tell me about the experience this week.
EMILY ODWIN: No, it was so much fun. I told my caddie Carly that kind of seeing Annika on the first tee settled my nerves a little bit because I've hit so many shots in front of her at her events over the years.
But no, it was so much fun. It was nothing like I've ever experienced and nothing like I probably will ever experience going forward in my career. It's something that I'm going to have for the rest of my career, and I'm going to remember it for the rest of my life. Just being able to walk all these holes today with Carly and my caddie and my coach at school, I think it is just something really, really special we're going to have.
Q. Any special moments during the round?
EMILY ODWIN: I mean, I hit the green at 12. I made a par there. I'll take that. That hole has been living in my head since 2016, and just being able to walk out of there with a par is something that I'll take. I told Carly on 18 I was waiting for her to walk up the fairway, and she was like, go have your moment. I was like, no, I don't want to have it by myself. It means nothing if it's by myself. Just being walk up that fairway with her together, I mean, yeah, I think that's just the biggest moment of it all.
Q. How long have you been looking forward to this week?
EMILY ODWIN: Ooh, I mean, getting into this tournament is something that I've been working toward since I think last year around this time. My teammate was out here and I was cheering her on, but obviously at the same time you want to be out here, too. The entire year was just trying to play good enough golf to get my ranking to a point where I had a chance to get into this event, and yeah, it's just something really cool.
Q. The last thing is if you look at this as a transition for you, you're finishing college, you played in a lot of events, you've been really close, so what comes next?
EMILY ODWIN: I played Q-school in the fall, and I made it through to stage 3 but I decided to finish out school with my team just because I had one more class and one more semester, and my coaches have done an incredible amount for me, so it just never felt right to leave.
But yeah, I'll be pro in June. I'll start on Epson Tour and then just kind of see how it goes.
