Nanna Koerstz Madsen

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Shadow Creek

Quick Quotes

Q. Joined by Nanna Koerstz Madsen who sits at 3-under par for the tournament in third place. Nanna, great three days of playing here at Shadow Creek. How have you found your week so far?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: It's been fun. I like it here at Shadow. It's a great golf course. It challenges every part of the game. No, I've had a lot of fun out there.

Q. You've had three pretty steady days on this golf course, consistent each day. What do you put that down to?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: I think just accepting every time I've made a mistake and just trying to get the ball back in play. So, okay, that's a bogey. There is still chances. Not letting it bother me too much.

So, yeah, the game has been pretty solid. Like to hit a little bit more fairways tomorrow, but, yeah, overall better putting than last couple weeks so that's been good.

Q. Obviously played around this course several times in the match play. How does it differ during stroke play on this course?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: Well, a lot of people were saying that they didn't like stroke play here. I really like it because you have to think about a lot of shots. I was talking to my caddie on 15 today. You're not even mad that it goes over the green because you're like, it's better than being short.

So there is just so much to where you have to think about where is it better to leave the ball, even if you can't really hit the green. Like on the third hole it's super tough to hit the ball. So where the best leave to make an up and down.

Q. In terms of your own game this week, what have you been doing the best and what's been working well out there?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: I don't really feel like anything sticks out. I guess iron play has been pretty good. Putting has been solid. So just steady overall, yeah.

Q. And just talking outside yesterday obviously you finished your round and you were just outside the top 10 and then to see what happened yesterday afternoon and then having a later tee times today, did you expect that No. 1 when you left the golf course yesterday? And No. 2, also were you kind of aware of what was happening?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: I did not expect to move up that many spots but we did see a couple years ago one afternoon where it played super tough with the wind that, I don't know, people moved up so many spots.

So I knew it was going to play tricky in the afternoon but moving up that many spots, wasn't really expecting that, yeah.

Q. Heading into the final day tomorrow. You're four back from the lead. What's your game plan for tomorrow?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: The same. I mean, I'm going to make mistakes out there. I don't know if there has been a bogey-free round on this golf course so far. If I can just accept the couple mistakes I make and then hopefully make a lot of birdies and some good shots too, then I will see where I end up tomorrow.

Q. Of all the courses you've played on the LPGA and LET Tours, where does this rank in terms the toughness of the challenge?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: It's up there. I think last year when we played Frisco that was really tough as well. But it was mainly the way they set it up. I think this one is really tough, but I also like that this is fair.

So obviously there is a couple shots where it's just impossible, but it's definitely Top 5 toughness of the courses we play.

Q. Should things work out in your favor tomorrow and you were to win -- I don't want to get too ahead of you -- what would it mean to win given the caliber of this field here at Shadow Creek?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: Well, I don't know. I mean, you often get that question with majors. We do play against the same girls every week. This week is combined with the LET, so best players from LET as well. Obviously it's a great field. I heard top something 20 in the world ranking are in the field.

It would be huge to get a win in a strong field, but a win is a win. I just like to win.
