AUGUSTA NATIONAL WOMEN'S AMATEUR

April 3, 2026

Raegan Denton

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. First time at Augusta?

RAEGAN DENTON: Yep, first time.

Q. Talk to me about your experience so far, being here during the practice round at Augusta.

RAEGAN DENTON: Just obviously first time, so this is one of the chances of a lifetime, and I'm never going to be able to come back for the first time, so I was just trying to take it all in.

But this place is so special. It's hard to put into words. It's absolutely magical, and it's like you're in a dream all day. There's not a single blade of grass out of place, and it's just so beautiful to play regardless of whether you're playing well or not.

Q. When you found out you were going to play the ANWA, did you think that you were going to do as well as you've been doing this week?

RAEGAN DENTON: I guess the hope is always there, the belief for sure, and all the hard work I've put in. But still no expectations set, just coming into it trying to win realistically.

Q. What worked for you this week? If you had to say there's two things --

RAEGAN DENTON: I think probably my iron play and my putting. My putting is usually a pretty big standout in my game. I think I'm a pretty good green reader. Then I was just putting -- especially on the first day, I was putting my irons in the right spots to get a lot of looks at birdies.

Q. Talking about green reading, what about these greens?

RAEGAN DENTON: I think I did really well out there today. I holed a fair few putts. Going into tomorrow, I'm fairly confident. I got my coach who is going to be my caddie, as well, so yeah, I think I'm going to be feeling pretty good over each putt.

Q. Being your first time in Augusta, is it hard sometimes to not be overwhelmed by the place and not concentrate on the round? What do you do to concentrate in practice like you're going to be in contention tomorrow?

RAEGAN DENTON: I think I've always been pretty good at separating myself from sort of my environment when I'm over the ball, and just sort of focusing on the task at hand. Between shots especially in the practice round you can just sort of take it all in and be in awe all day because there's always a new sight to be seen.

Q. What will be the key for you tomorrow?

RAEGAN DENTON: I think tomorrow I just think I have to play my own game. I can't be too worried about what other people are doing. Just sort of play my own game, control what I can control, and just sort of play as well as possible.
