ARAMCO CHAMPIONSHIP

April 3, 2026

Amelia Garvey

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Shadow Creek

Quick Quotes

Q. Amelia, well done. Lowest round of the day today in brutal conditions. Talk us through what it was like out there.

AMELIA GARVEY: Yeah, I actually played really well yesterday; I just couldn't putt. Was putting a bit like Stevie Wonder out there. Yeah, just they all -- well, most of them went in today. We did a bit of extra work on the putting green this morning.

But, yeah, I probably hit it just as good yesterday, so for it to be a ten-shot difference just shows what this course can do to you. I knew I could go out there and put a round up, so I'm really proud that I did.

Q. We know you love playing stingers and playing in the wind. Heading into this week did you think you had a chance round this golf course?

AMELIA GARVEY: Yeah, I actually put a 2-iron in the bag again. Swapped out to a 3-iron recently but seeing this golf course and knowing that the wind would be up, Ping was here and I asked for another 2-iron.

So definitely been hitting that a lot. And, yeah, I mean, I love hard conditions. It's not always fun when you're out there but it makes you get a bit creative and hit challenging golf shots, which is fun.

Q. Obviously you said it's brutal, the golf course. One blemish on the scorecard today, really solid round apart from that. How do you feel your game is heading into the weekend?

AMELIA GARVEY: Yeah, after today seeing the changes we made with my putting, yeah, really looking forward to the weekend and just getting two more rounds out here. Hopefully the conditions are going to be a little bit easier.

But, yeah, that 17th hole I hit two good golf shots. It's just really, really tough hole, especially when it's, what, 30 miles per hour into you.

Yeah, I just forget about that, and, yeah, excited for tomorrow.

Q. When you're walking up 18 green, obviously one of your best friends, Patty Tavatanakit, was waving and cheering for you. What's it like playing an event with her again this year?

AMELIA GARVEY: Yeah, it's awesome. We don't get to see each other much throughout the year. Obviously now that I've been on the LET I don't see her much at all really, aside from these events.

Yeah, we played both practice rounds together again this week. It was really nice of her to come out on the last to support me.

So maybe hopefully we can be playing together on Sunday. That would be nice. Yeah, it's always great to have friends like that.

Q. And knowing you, I'm sure you like the city of Las Vegas. What have you been doing this week?

AMELIA GARVEY: I can't tell you too much. Yeah, definitely been on the blackjack table a little bit in my spare time. Yeah, me and my dad went to a show on Saturday -- no, Sunday -- the Michael Jackson show, which was amazing.

Few of my friends went to another interesting show that I might check out. I've also got one of my best mates from New Zealand supporting me here as well. Yeah, we're seeing some sights for sure.

Q. One of the big talking points come into this week was the quality of the field, all 20 of the top 20 in the Rolex world rankings. Given that this a PIF Global Series event, $4 million purse, co-sanctioned by both the LPGA and the LET, how cool is it for you as a player to be playing in a field of this strength?

AMELIA GARVEY: Yeah, it's amazing. This is why I moved to the LET. I think it's awesome to be able to test your game against these girls and kind of see where you stand in comparison to them.

We don't really get to play against them all year aside from the Scottish and British. But, yeah, to see that the all the top 20 committed to playing this event just shows how good the LET is doing at growing the tour, and the fact that we can play alongside these players is an amazing opportunity.

Q. Well played. Good luck on the tables.

AMELIA GARVEY: Thank you.
